The Ball is an indie singleplay action/puzzle game, running on Unreal Engine 3, for PC. The expected release date is spring 2010. The project started out as a mod for UT3, but has since gone stand alone.

The Ball is an innovative action adventure game with six hours of singleplayer gameplay.
Playing from a first person perspective, you solve puzzles and crush monsters with a large physics driven ball, manipulated by the pushing and pulling forces of an ancient device.
As an archaeologist working on the slopes of a dormant volcano somewhere in Mexico, you get stuck in an underground Cavern. It doesn't take long before you realize this is more than just a cave. You reveal ancient ruins that have been hidden from outsiders for centuries and discover a mysterious artifact, a gold and metal shelled Ball. As you venture deeper into the volcano, you reveal some of mankind's greatest secrets...

The name of this mod sounds wrongggg....
I like the name, "The Ball" sounds cool and fits this mod!

Wow this is an amazing mod. I just wanted to inform you of a glitch before I forget. On the first level of Oztoc when you run into the lava ball, The ball rolled into me during the cutscene and The camera somehow got stuck showing me the water. So when the cutscene ended I couldn't see anything other than the water and how far away I was from my ball. I ended up quiting out. Other than this I've had no problems and can't wait for more.
This mod seems very good, but I can't launch the game with the shortcut: I have UT3 on Steam and it is opened when I try, so what is wrong?
I have multiple windows saying 'ambiguous package name'.

Check if you have an older version of the mod installed, and if so, remove it.
I had an older indeed, but after removing and reinstalling The Ball, the same error occurs...
You still have files from an old install there then. Do a windows search for TB or manually look in the Cooked directory.
UT does not offer the functionality to let people skip a cutscene. We can't do it. And if we have fewer cutscenes we have people complain they don't know what to do. Impossible battle.
aye we spent ages doing cutscenes for planetstorm - nobody cares, they just want to shoot things :)
