Introducing the latest mod to come to Legacy- The Aftermath.
Star Trek Legacy: The Aftermath is the first mod of its kind, a hybrid mod unique in approach and creation. One part mod the other part tutorial, this mod not only offers a unique playing experience but also encourages the average user to take their game skills to the next level-teaching them how to go about creating their own game.
The tutorial half of the game has been designed to offer up and coming modders the info and encouragement they need to set out on their own mod. Whether they wish to create new game modes or add to the growing list of Historical battles they could create; the know how is there for them to go about and create their own gaming experience.
The mod half, with enhanced AI, challenging scenarios and much more push the foundations of Legacy to make it a different experience each time you play. With many new maps each with their own perils and wonders will see the Legacy engine in a different light. The re-designed interface that carries through every menu throughout the game is to provide a change of scenery to the generic look of the old stock look.
This first hybrid mod for Legacy has many more features yet to come. Additional info and progress can be found at the STL: The Aftermath forums that are being built up

In earlier news posts in late 2009, Aftermath would eventually start offering individual maps that were in previous Aftermath installs outside of Aftermath. This is also the reason why all the older maps wont be found in the forthcoming release AM2010. The first off-load of maps begins with the very first Borg Co-op Wave map ever created in the Legacy community: Grid 453.

However, rather than just packing the map up and shipping it out, the map itself has had some extra work done to it to freshen it up for its solo release. The lighting was changed and the background was swapped out for a more conventional one that fits the tone of the map.
At this stage, there are plans to off-load existing maps throughout 2010 either as an individual download or in packs. More closer to the release of AM2010 a series of booster packs will start to filter out containing the older material that wont be present in the major release.

These releases have the intention of having maximum compatibility with any other mod within Legacy. Just simply install the maps and they are ready straight out of the box. There is no set release schedule for the offloads but there are quite a few maps that will eventually be up for download.

The additional maps can be found in the Add-ons section of the Aftermath Legacy page or by following the link below

Question dunno your exact plans for the mod but any chance of a custom campaign? like most i was wholey disapointed in the campaign provided in the stock game, i think if you guys could do one it would be hella better.
Thank you alot for for your hard work on this mod. i play it daily. it leaves me wanting more of your work lol cant wait for the next release you get out. ^^
I never was much for STL i thought Bethseda did a crap job with it, promised us the world and gave us a peice of moon rock instead. aving said that looking at this mod makes me want to actually play STL again, with the mod that is. Hope you get to releasing the 3.0 version soon, i'll be playing your 2.0 mod until that day comes. Keep up the excellent work and perhaps this turd of a game can be shined into diamond.
The new release (Battalia Requiem) wont be out till back end 2010 but I hope to have a full working beta ready around Easter. Currently in testing stages is the proto AM game engine in non-Aftermath installs (stock, and modded) to see what it does in regards to other installs of Legacy. The more machines I can test the proto build out on the bigger the benefits I can milk out of it.
But AM: Battalia Requiem will be a very different version of Legacy...
There may be a non-Aftermath release by myself this year, a currently untitled project ;)
As always... a very beautiful Mod...
Especially for strategy/simulation gamers and Star Trek Fans such as myself! ;)
seeing the ships from the new movie would be pretty cool cause that offers a way to change the ships to have new wepons and wepons placed in different places. i still wanna see the domenion cause that dose give u 3 races to work with for ships or maybe just do 1 race that is just mics so u can use ships from all kinds of races
are there any servers for the mod avaible?
im just curious are you going to add the enterprise like in the new startrek movie or mabey even the class of ship the kelvin was? just wondering cause those pulse phasers kicked ***.
There is a movie pack being made for the BC version of Aftermath which has those ships in it but no one around to bring them across into the Legacy version. There are ships locked in for the 2010 release so you will have to wait and see...
There are no more add-ons for existing Aftermath releases. Aftermath 2010/3.0 will be released next year. That will be a major release
