The description is wrong. Historiclly the Federangers defeated the B'rel and then Kahless from his Moon Base yelled "Magic Sword! Make my vessel grow!"

Yep that's how the K'Vort came to be!

Wasn't USS Mega-Zord a combinbation of 5 of the Federations best ships and their crew had to dress in tight latex suits and forced to jump dramatically every time the ship hit a bump in sub-space?

I loved that episode.

Description

Ever since the B'rel-class Bird of Prey was first launched in the 2280s Klingon engineers wanted to expand on its versatile design. The Chuq'Beh of the 2310s failed because no particular use could be found for it - it inhabited the grey are between frigates and cruisers and excelled in neither role. With the Empire's fleet of cruisers lagging behind their Federation and Romulan counterparts in the first half of the 24th Century, Klingon engineers took to drastically up-scaling the basic B'rel design once again. The result was the K'vort - the largest Bird of Prey yet and undeniably worthy of the cruiser name.

Launched in the 2320s the K'vort is at its most basic level simply a much bigger B'rel, built with a similar purpose and filling a similar role in the fleet. Even in appearance they could almost be taken for twins, with the most obvious difference being the K'vort's much greater scale. This is precisely what the engineers who designed the K'vort intended. The B'rel had been a stunning success - surely a bigger one would be even more so?

The K'vort functions with all the effectiveness one would expect from a Klingon Bird of Prey. Fast, manoeuvrable and equipped with firepower far surpassing that of its smaller brother, the K'vort is an exceptional assault cruiser, the heavy disruptor cannons at its wing-tips tearing its targets apart with ease. They were used extensively during the Klingon Civil War of 2368, where it was proved that two K'vorts working together could deal crippling damage to even a Vor'cha battlecruiser.
