Description

Launched in early 2373 during the Klingon-Cardassian War, the K'vek heavy cruiser is the newest and most powerful cruiser in the Klingon fleet. Only barely short of being classified a true battlecruiser, the K'vek is designed, in typical Klingon fashion, to carry out bold attack runs - charging straight at the enemy with all guns blazing. Armed with a dazzling array of forward firepower, the K'vek is steadily taking its place as the tip of the Klingon spear, punching holes in enemy lines and surging through without stopping or even slowing down.

Speed is important in the K'veks role, and as such the K'vek is equipped with impulse engines far larger than a ship of its size would normally possess. The K'vek accelerates with wild abandon, propelled forward like a javelin aimed straight at its foes. Captains of K'vek cruisers commonly transfer power from the ship's shields directly into its forward weapons banks, maximising the damage dealt by the first, dramatic volley as the K'vek charges forward in a devastating assault.

The K'vek holds much in common with its older and larger cousin, the Vor'cha battlecruiser. Also of note, however, are the features it has in common with the mighty Negh'Var battleship, itself a recent addition to the Klingon fleet. These features, combined with its almost ridiculous amount of firepower, has led to the K'vek being called the Empire's 'pocket battleship' by many Klingons. This is a name the K'vek more than lives up to.
