Description

The nature of the Borg Queen is not readily understood. She (if the Queen is indeed a 'she', though the Queen certainly takes a feminine form) is neither a leader nor authority figure - such concepts are antithetical to the very nature of the Collective. While she has been observed giving direction and focus to the Collective's efforts, describing these directions as 'commands' does not seem fitting - the Borg have no hierarchy or command structure. Rather, the Queen seems to be a singular focal point of the Borg's hive-mind as a whole - the unifying, directive force bringing quadrillions of thoughts together in harmony - the Collective made manifest, embodying all its power...and desire.

Normally housed safely in Unimatrix 01 located in the very heart of Borg space, the Queen rarely takes to the field, but on those occasions where she desires as such, she often does so aboard a Borg Diamond.

The Diamond itself is essentially a mobile Borg weapons platform, carrying some of the most powerful weapons at the Borg's disposal, as well as a myriad of standard Borg cutting beams, disruptors and gravimetric torpedo launchers. While not as inherently durable and utilitarian as a Cube, the Diamond makes up for it with sheer potency, able to engage large numbers of targets with ease. The Diamond specialises in crippling enemy vessels, preparing them for assimilation at the hands of smaller Borg vessels. With its powerful and exotic weapons systems it excels in this role, and provides the peoples of the galaxy with yet another reason to fear the Borg.
