Star Trek: Armada III begins with the first stirrings of the Dominion War and allows players to take command of five unique factions, the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, the Cardassian Union/Dominion Alliance, and the Borg Collective. Explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before.
Borg vessel designation: Trapezoid. This vessel serves the Collective as a resource collection and planetary development platform. Far from the Collective's most powerful vessel, the Trapezoid typically follows behind larger, better equipped Borg ships. That said, it is designed and built for a particular purpose, and within this purpose it performs efficiently. And efficiency is the virtue the Collective prizes most.
The Trapezoid is equipped with a unique assimilation beam designed to purge entire planets of harmful microbes, while a swarm of Borg nanoprobes dramatically alter the planet's ecosystem, preparing the way for a new Borg outpost. The Trapzoid's holds contain vast numbers of dormant Borg drones, who are transported to the planet to serve the Collective's needs on the surface.
Meanwhile, the Trapezoid's secondary function comes into play. The Trapezoid generates an incredibly powerful energy vortex that rips valuable resources directly from deep within the planet's crust. These resources are sucked straight into the Trapezoid's processing centre, where they are made ready for almost immediate use.
Resistance is futile, at least for the planet it is
They are not accommodated for resisting my liberation fleet.
Pity, I rather liked this class.
