Star Trek: Armada III begins with the first stirrings of the Dominion War and allows players to take command of five unique factions, the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, the Cardassian Union/Dominion Alliance, and the Borg Collective. Explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before.
"Bagh Da tuH mogh. Fire streaks the Heavens! ChojaH Duh rHo. Battle has begun!"
Not all Klingon warriors are comfortable with or suited to fighting on the Empire's warships and battle stations. Many prefer to fight with open sky above their heads and dirt beneath their feet, with un-cycled air filling their lungs. It is the Ravenous troop transport that carries these warriors into battle.
In typical Klingon fashion, the Ravenous is, for all intents and purposes, a battleship first and foremost. Equipped with powerful disruptors, pulse cannons and photon torpedoes, the Ravenous never shies away from combat. What sets it apart, however, is its ability to carry a large number of troops in its holds, ready and eager to storm and overthrow enemy worlds like the heroes of old. Also of typical Klingon design, these holds are essentially cramped and uncomfortable barracks for these warriors, who spend their days training, drinking, fighting and yearning for the day when the Ravenous' industrial transporters will beam them into glory.
The sheer amount of targ meat and bloodwine the Ravenous needs to take on at Imperial supply depots is astonishing. Klingons are known for their boisterous nature. During times of war these traits only increase, and the Ravenous carries many hungry Klingons. "Now is the time to celebrate, for tomorrow we all may die!"
DAT AFT is my AFT
It's a bigger AFT than the Nova's, anyway.
This AFT is Your AFT.
This AFT is My AFT.
This AFT was made for you and me!
Qapla!
So much AFT.
Not enough AFT.
The mention of troops and transporters reminded me, does TFF have transport inhibitors/scramblers?
No abilities that I'm aware of. Though some ships are listed das unboardable. I suppose that could count.
And it is a good thing that certain ships are uncapturable. However, it was a pretty funny time when Klingons could capture Doomsday Machines, Whale Probes and the like.
Yeah, that can't happen any more. XD
