Many have been wondering what is this essential and final item upon which you anxiously await the completion of MISERY 2.2. There have been many small hints in previous teasers, but I will lay it out for those who haven’t already guessed.

WEAPONS & ARMOR DISMANTLING
You will no longer need to haul packs full of heavy damaged loot back to base. Using either improvised tools or highly specialized kits you will now be able break down weapons, armor, and even electronics into small and large parts, debris, fabric, etc. When you use a specialized kit you may be able to extract helmets, integrated or permanently attached scopes, etc. The parts, of course, can be sold.

More importantly they can be used to bring a looted weapon from zero condition all the way up to 100% enabling you to bring the highly damaged carcass you found of your favorite model shooter up to glistening pristine condition without spending all your hard earned cash. You can use the parts on the spot in the field to repair the battle wear before you even head back further reducing your load. You can fix up high end weapons you find with bits from lesser weapons and sell them for profit. Electronics in good or bad condition can be salvaged to recover the batteries within, or even components they were made from. Did you earn an outfit you don’t want or no longer need one you have because you upgraded? Break it down for valuable spare parts and toss the rest.

When you right click on a valid tool all the weapons/armor/electronics it is capable of dismantling appear in a window you choose your target and salvage the item. Not all tools are created equal. Some need to be sharpened before use, some may break, some you will never want to leave home without. Different tools provide different results. It’s your choice to break it down in the field with whatever you have at hand or bring it back to base to squeeze every drop of value from it. Some procedures require a helper tool to complete. You can still drag the weapons back and sell them without breaking them down. You decide, it’s your hard earned loot. The dismantling process isn’t just going to lighten your load and enable you to realistically scavenge useable parts from weapons many know often have common pieces. It will unload, remove the silencer, scope and grenade launcher for you as you dismantle. No more having to painfully check each weapon for precious bullets that might be the only thing enabling you to eat tomorrow.



Parts and debris can also be used as helper materials for other repair kits making them even more effective. All these wonderful features have to be programmed for each and every variation of every item in the game. All the tables have to be built, verified and tested. Probabilities for various combinations of factors like the tool used, original condition of the item, etc. all need to be written. When complete it will be quickly but thoroughly tested and any bugs fixed. Final balancing will be done before it will be yours to enjoy. As you can see, it really isn’t a feature you would want to leave out. The rest of the team are still fine tuning and polishing other new features to truly MISERY worthy levels while our coder is slaving away with only enough chain to let him reach his paying job once in a while.

If you wanted to go to extremes you could say that MISERY 2.2 has had a status of 98% completion for the last few months. But you don't put a car on the market without a steering wheel. And the steering wheel in this case is considered a core feature of the upcoming release, that just can't be pulled for technical reasons.

Lately, we have downscaled our promotion and teasing of the upcoming version because we understand the prolonged release of MISERY 2.2 feels unbearable and provocative to many followers.

Вам больше не придется таскать тяжелые кучи серьезно поврежденного хабара на базу. Использование либо подручных средств, либо специализированных наборов инструментов позволит вам разбирать оружие, броню, и даже электронику на малые и большие запчасти, обломки, обрывки и т.д.. При использовании специализированных наборов вы сможете извлекать шлемы, интегрированные или перманентно прикрепленные прицелы и т.д.. Части, конечно, можно продать.

Более важно то, что они могут быть использованы для доводки найденного оружия с нуля до 100%-ного состояния, позволяя тебе превратить найденный тобой сильно поврежденные останки твоего любимого оружия до состояния "новенькое, еще в масле" не тратя все с таким трудом заработанные деньги. Можно использовать запчасти для ремонта снаряжения прямо во время ходки, тем самым уменьшая вес, который придется нести на базу. Вы сможете чинить дорогостоящее оружие элементами более дешевых образцов вооружения, и продавать его с выгодой. Электроника в хорошем или плохом состоянии позволит восстановить батарейки, или даже элементы из которых она была сделана. Вы нашли броник которые не будете носить или старый вам больше не нужен? Разберите его на части, оставьте ценные и выбросьте остальные.

По щелчку правой кнопкой мыши по соответствующему инструменту все оружие, бронежилеты и электроника поддающиеся разборке появятся в окне, вы выбираете вашу цель и извлекаете ее. Не все инструменты сделаны равными. Некоторые требуют заточки перед использованием, некоторые могут сломаться, без некоторых вы не захотите выходить из дома. Разные инструменты дают разные результаты. Вам придется решать, разобрать все в сразу прямо в ходке, используя то что окажется под рукой, или дотащить все до базы чтобы вытащить все ценное до последнего винтика. Некоторые манипуляции потребуют вспомогательных инструментов. Вы по прежнему можете притащить оружие на базу и сбыть торговцу не разбирая. Это ваш хабар, вам и решать. Разборка снаряжения призвана не только облегчить вашу загрузку и позволить реалистично использовать годные части оружия, так как часто они общие для нескольких стволов. Can you tell if the Misery 2.2 compatible TAZ will require a new save game? (example being I start playing Misery 2.2 and then a week later TAZ comes out and I want to install it)

I just want that stupid merc AI 100% accuracy from long range to be fixed. When you shoot at them, they're like ******* robots just instant turn and stare at your scope directly. And it scared the **** out of me. What's even worst is that they know where you're hiding.

It is changed to high degree with new camouflage effect.

However, high trained mercs will always be one of hardest enemies to fight against. Also, when you get spoted by one merc, all squad is aware of your position. (npc_help in scripts). You got very tinny bit of time to kill some NPC before he alert all other of your presence.

Often, when whole NPC squad is alerted, they throw grenades on your position and suppressive fire, while others try to flank you. Sometimes it can be quite stupid from NPC as they try to shoot trough walls, making you thinking that they can see you trough walls, while they were just informed about your presence from some other NPC that have you on sight.

Something else that also should be put in consideration is that eyesight is not only sense that NPCs have. If you are close to them, they can hear your footsteps and wepon reloading/fire sounds too.

It is ungrateful from me to talk about it, I will just quote Plaargath's feedback from his latest playtrough and camouflage observations:

"I'm not sure 100% from the technical point of view, but probably it's this one that made playing at night more diverse than I remembered. It was nice to see that not always I'm being spotted by an NPC in the middle of a rainy night from another end of a map. It made playing in Pripyat more fun - I could have a justified hope that I can sneak on some monolithians and I tried playing with different tactics - it was really cool to play like that, sometimes even being 100% successful with a stealh, and being discovered by NPCs at moments that I couldn't fully learn to anticipate. A great change!"

May seem a bit obsessive but i think it's the only way to not forget about it due to work and personal life and then maybe wake up 10 years later after a dream of your old Misery craving suddenly made you remember about it and maybe find that Moddb closed a month after Misery 4.5 was released and you can no longer get it. Just my 0.02

As stated, MISERY is compilation of many mods from various mod authors. It is hard from current active members to track down exactly who and when violated Bohemia Interactive IP right.

This does not diminish responsibility of currently active MDT members to remove infringing files, though.

I recall that one of the most annoying things in MISERY 2.1 were hand grenades thrown by enemies. Except for their crazy, anomalous behavior they had almost no fuse time compared to player grendes ( the exploded the moment they hit something).
Will their fuse time on hostile-thrown grenades be fixed, or at least will player be granted the ability to "cook" grenades in MISERY 2.2?

i am going to say about the ai with his aim and this is a complex idea and i dont want say that you need to add it but its just an idea . the AI should be like this : their hit chance should be dynamic and affected by what faction is the npc what rank it is what weapon he has range should affect the hit chances the weather when is fog i mean dense fog the npc was supposed not to see at 100 m the equipment it has or not their lets say performance should be affected if its night and ofc random stuff like if its night they should be a little tired or very tired that should affect their combat skills and for example a loner rookie should have a chance or running away from a soldier or a big rank npc like a bandit veteran i mean intimidation at night some npc can get easily scared i mean rookies in general and start running and ofc the reload speed of weapons should be affected by faction weather weapon condition when its night and rank of the npc because you cant expect for a loner rookie to reload his weapon as fast as a rookie soldier . but yeah this is hard to make in my opinion and i am not asking to do it . if some of those features are in the mod sorry . but feel free to answer me with any idea or if its good or bad and if its bad say why .

Many of things you are mentioned are already included, although it is not always noticable in heat of combat. NPC can get panicked and try to eun away, but it is quite rare occasion.

NPC aiming capability and perception is already based on ranks and faction. Monolith and merc squads will be mostly top noch, but there is mix of NPCs with various ranks within same squad and other factions, like Stalkers, Bandits, Freedom and Duty vary much more with their ranks.

I just hope i still can run it in my crappy PC, since i saw theres some changes to some Nature 4 thing... Are the requirements going up? My crappy PC could play it with playable FPS most of the time... hope that doesnt ruin my favourite game/mod ever

If you were able to play before, you will be able to play 2.2. without much issues. You might lower down grass density and such, but overal, performance is slightly increased over 2.1.1. while having more busy maps at same times.

Well i played with everything in low already except the vision range thing that i kept it as high as possible for obvious reasons, as i said, really bad PC so i just gotta pray and hope for the best

It will be much safer now to decrease alife range. You will not miss too much if you lower it to 200m for performance improvement.

It is hard to give general tips for each hardware that is available around, though.

Quick question, have the suppressor stats been finalized yet? If so what will they be? (e.g. slight increase in accuracy, slight decreases in damage etc etc) I'm not asking for exact values but those would be nice too.
