Post any of your experiences that scared the s#!% out of you in either Misery, S.T.A.L.K.E.R, or another videogame if you've got nothing on the prior two. Halloween is almost here, everybody.

Found a snork near Iron forest, not moving at all in the grass. Thought I got some free loot. About to click on that thing's leg, then the fucker jumped, so did I....

I was clad in clear sky armour, and a sphere 12 helmet, with a full artifact load of titanium grids.

I had myself an AK with a drum magazine (TAZ), and a sniper rifle.

I am heading to jupiter station.

Oh dear...Its foggy... ;(

RAWR!

A FUCKING CHIMERA! OH SHIT!

*Boom boom*

Two grenades later, its dead, after I nearly piss myself.

Thankfully I took no damage.

I head further.

*Moans*

Zombies? Easy peasy!

*Blam blam!*

The zombies die easily, I take a hit to my chest, but my armour takes it.

I head further in, TWO CHIMERA!?

I spend at least 5 minutes grenading and dodging the bastards.

I wipe sweat from my brow.

I keep going.

Oh shit, is that a gheist!?

*Sneaks around it*

Okay, I'm fine...

Two burers appear out of nowhere, and I shoot them in the face, I barely take damage, Burers are kinda weak.

Oh hey! A toolkit! Awesome! I can give this to nitro! <3

*Five bloodsuckers appear out of nowhere and tear me to pieces in ten seconds*

D;

I need new pants.

I was startled by my first Monolith suicide bomber, but that just made me LOL ... Once exiting the admin building I got only a few steps away from the door and saw Three Gigants, only meters away and heading towards the door. I was near the end of an excursion and low on supplies. I killed one with my last M203 round and started retreating firing as I did. I backed up the stairs a floor at a time ricocheting grenades around the corners hoping for a lucky shot. Two floors above I slowly watched my health bar drop with each big stomp. I swapped to every weapon I had looted that had any ammunition left and kept plinking away; health still dropping last medkit expended ... am I finally going to die? I tossed my last grenade, all other ammunition expended and finally scored a strong enough hit on the last Gigant to make him limp heavily. I'm down to less than 20% health and drop everything I can bear to part with to make a dash for it. My stamina is so low I can only sprint a few meters at a time. Bush to bush I dash barely out limping the final Gigant desperately hoping I don't run into a stray snork or dog on my way back to Yanov. One last open space before Yanov, Gigant doggedly limping along after me determined to avenge his fellows .... I always ignored the sentries outside the building annoyed at the nagging about shouldering my weapons but they did me a solid and finished that damned Gigant off and I lived to see another sunrise in the Zone.

My other most startling moment was also near by. I was leisurely walking on the elevated walkway between the admin buildings and spotted a Chimera chasing a Pseudodog What a treat, an easy to line up pot shot as the pseudo was running in a straight line down the road between the building towards my hide. I one shot the Pseudo and smile ... then the Chimera jumped straight through the window sticking a perfect gymnasts landing in the middle of the walkway. I'M INSIDE A HALLWAY WITH A CHIMERA !!! Smile wiped off my face I ran like heck for the staircase.

2.2 eliminates the arrow indicating which way you are facing on the map ... not a big deal, right? You know these three maps like the back of your hand; it's an inconvenience requiring just a little look around to orient yourself. That is, until night falls ... and the fog rolls in ... Night-Vision just makes the fog more blinding. Then you start hearing the wildlife ... getting closer ... immersion at it best ;)

Oh well, I've had a few of them.

I mean, uh, train tunnel in Yanov always scared the shoot out of me once the Burers were dealt with, because it's a pure gamble what you can meet there. Poltergeists, more Burers, Bloodsuckers, sometimes Izloms, heck, even Monolith and Loner/Duty/Freedom squads often reside here from time to time.

There was once a situation when I've went in without much of an idea what I could meet there once the mission was done. Turned out there was a spawn of bloodsuckers, that I totally wasn't aware of. It goes like this: I go for the entrance, go few steps forward, and get instantly wiped to the floor by swarm of 4 bloods. And no, I wasn't wearing really mutant-proof armor. And yes, I died. And, of course, I almost fell off my chair.

Moreover, I personally hate situations when I'm in radius of polter-/pyrogeist's psy field, but I can't see the bastard a mile away, because he's either underground (pipes under Antenna Complex in Zaton), or he's behind some sort of cover and I can't possibly get around him due to various scenarios I'm putting myself in (for example, rushing Iron Forest's stash for tools with starting gear, and wiping the entire plant of mutants, provided there isn't a chimera spawn, which sometimes occurs (occured? In few playthrough's I've either had luck not meeting them at all or it's been disabled, I have no idea. Or they just went here to make my day worse)).

So yeah, that's me. I also don't like being controlled by surprise from a distant controller, but that can be avoided, provided you know the spawns.

Controllermadness

A Beta test SNAFU. I think there were 6-8 pairs. I had to flee, run all the way to the roof of the house by the Ash Heap and snipe them all before I could approach again. The Mercs on the roof of the scientists bunker seemed unfazed LOL.

Now if that was a foggy night, would have been a nightmare you won't wake up from.
