So, what will be your choice of USS class for version 2.0 and why?

Oct 5 2012 Anchor

USS assaulter for sure. Why? Because he can carry more weight and he is specialised in assault rifles and heavy weapons. Assaulter packs a punch!!

Oct 5 2012 Anchor

first assault (to learn a bit the game) . second recon

Oct 5 2012 Anchor

playing as recon right now but treating him like an assaulter will most likely place as an assaulter in 2.0

Sniper fitts for me becouse i like long range tactics and im planing to take advantage of mutant hunting so the strong stomach is ideal, and i allso like playing at night so the choice is obvious :D i just need to find a sawn-off double barrel, the ump, the m16 and the green dragon again and im good for life :D

Edit: 2nd Time ill go with Recon thats for shure :D

Sniper class. First it feels more balanced and doesn't require to fight with some kind of disadvantage. Second even tho using sniper rifles in misery is not cheap and I am forced to use assault rifles with high precision, there are situations when that class is very useful. Third carry weight is exactly in right amount for me, since its easy to travel light and loot can be taken in several runs. And I like that you have diversified a lot more aspects of game for each class, so in theory they really seem very different.

i choose sniper cause when you are a sniper and a good sniper you can take down dozens of enemies well offcourse if you know how to choose strategic position also when you spot a pack of mutants you get more time to shoot whille they are running towards you hell i even killed the bloodsuckers in the swamp with a sniper!! you can stalk your pray wait for the right momment!!! and about closequarters combat it is pretty easy when you have to deal with conntrollers and burers they are slow and you have more time untill they attack and more time means more damage and by saying damage i mean green dragon damage :D also it's verry easy with the snorks if you are a sneaky bastard they don't even see you comming so much for the bullet to their heads!!! BUT i believe if you want to be a good sniper you need patience and to observe the enviroment arround you there are many advantages you can take but most people don't see them :) no offence!! any trigger happy dude should not choose sniper... :D

I will be choosing sniper.
1) no downsides, seems nice and balanced to me. (though no upsides either i guess)
2) I already played recon my first 2 playthroughs
3) I want to do hunting, and sniper seems very well equipped for that
4) since i havent had that much experience with sniper rifles in game, it will be a welcome change of pace.

that is all! these classes look really great and i look forward to playing them all eventually!

His head rests in the middle of my scope, I wait.
The wind dies, nows my chance.
I squeeze the trigger. Another notch on my sniper rifle.

The advantage of long range sniping is all too satisfying. Always the sniper.

I'd be Recon

1) I love gas masks and he starts with one :D

2) Lots of medical equipment and benefits from it more than the other chaps

3) I wanna check out that Skorpion, never seen one in STALKER before.

4) Starts with my favorite pistol, and the pistol I own in real life

Going recon. I like getting close, personal and silent (splinter cell influence, I guess). I use a lot of diversion tactics in CQB, which involves fast and silent out-of-sight relocation. Because of that, recon is the best choice for me.

Interestingly, the Assaulter does not suppose to start out with an AK-105 and a APS, he instead, starts with an StG-44 and a PM for balancing reasons. I think Aeroe forgot about that....

What exactly are you referring to here?
How can you comment on what the assaulter starts with when 2.0 isn't even released yet?

RECON: I feel like recon most closely resembles how I would react to living in the Zone. Also, I love the use of artifacts and closed-breathing suits. I felt that the original STALKER never gave you much of an incentive to use lighter-weight suits as opposed to heavy. With the new changes made to MISERY 2.0, I feel like I'll be able to play STALKER as I've always wanted: a highly mobile, close quarters specialist who survives through his ability to take advantage of the artifacts and can survive in the zone through clever use of specialized lightweight body armor.

Haha. That made me laugh all the way!
I wonder what assaulter and sniper class would look like in cats then

First playthrough on 2.0 will be assaulter (i like giving a bloodsucker a beat down) second playthrough will be the sniper because the class seams so well balanced its almost perfect.

Sniper all the way. Good blend of everything. Not only that but MISERY has allowed me to start off with the beloved Mosin Nagat.

Sniper! An odd choice for me, because it is the one class I did not play, and the class I didn't think I would even consider playing come 2.0. However, I'm planning to do something silly and be a weirdo and try to "roleplay" as myself in the Zone.

Within the scale of physical abilities listed I would say I'm pretty average (I am neither a huge strong guy like the Assaulter is written to be, nor a ninja like the Recon). On top of that I do well without much food or sleep, have an extremely strong stomach, and have a hunting/outdoor survival background which was one of the things that caught my eye about the Sniper class in 2.0. Very much a surprise to me - I think it's going to be a very interesting experience. I'm mentally preparing myself to ... Watch "myself" die... Probably a lot. XD

I have not decided yet. I am thinking recon or sniper.

Mar 15 2013 Anchor

Assaulter all the way. Sure it's probably the hardest to play, but there's no one better for using all of those delicious AK rounds you collect during your stay in the zone! Also, LOOTING!

USS ASSAUKTER FOR ME Cause im anoob to this like ive beat the game but im not very good i like having big guns and wasting ammo
