Ever think misery was too easy? Want to live off the land? This mod is for you. The zone has been cut off from the outside world for too long. Supplies are running out. How could you possibly survive in this Misery?

v3 for misery 2.2
Drive.google.com

v3.1 for misery 2.2

Drive.google.com

This mod currently changes the following:

-Traders have no inventory(minus things you cannot loot)
-Cleaning and sewing kits, on their final use, will now repair 0% of the item's condition unless support items are used.
-Cleaning and sewing kits now have unlimited uses on their final stage
-Mechanics will no longer repair your gear

v2 changes:
-You will now spawn with a lighter....seems I cannot make it drop as loot :(
-I think all of the cleaning/sewing should give 0% now

v3 changes(feb 27):
Things like multitools will no longer give condition gain unless they are sharp

v3.1 changes
-Added backpacks to merchants

This is just the early stages of this. With my previous mod I did most of the work before posting it but this one I am inviting people to give this a try and give feedback. I am hoping that this will not just be harder but force me to use weapons and tactics I normally wouldn't.

Hi Odizzido!

I was just looking for ways to make such changes myself, when I stumbled upon your mod. Do you still work on it? Please let me know! I am thrilled to learn more.

Oh. Yeah I have some changes but nobody replied to this thread so I never packed them up and uploaded them. Honestly I am not sure what files I've changed now :P

I will figure it out and post a newer version at some point. In the meantime, please do feel free to post any ideas you have.

Great mod! I'd like higher difficult level for Misery 2.2!

odizzido, something is not right with sewing kits. After using any of those with 1 usage left, they don't go into final stage. You can use them unlimited times and they restore the same amount of percent every time, which essentialy make them unlimited repair kits forever. Could you please fix it, or describe what should be changed and where in order to make it work right?

Feb 7 2018 Anchor

That is intentional. They stay on their last stage forever but give 0% repair so you have to use support materials for anything. Is there one that I missed that gives some % without anything extra used?

They don’t go into last stage in my game. They still repair the same amount of percent as new repair kits. I’ve tested advanced sewing kit and heavy sewing kit. Don’t know yet if the other ones behave like that too.

Those big, heavy kits on the other hand go into final stage, but then they can’t be used on their own anymore, just as a supportive kit.

oh huh....the version I posted is pretty old heh.

K posting a new version with kit fixes and lighter spawn. Should work, let me know if you have any issues and also if you have any ideas on what else I could do with this :)

Looks interesting. I'd like to try this after I finish my current run. How is it with food? I imagine once you got all the stashes you have a very hard time getting your hands on food and die of starvation.

I play without using vendors, only bartering with NPC's and/or looting bodies and I have yet to starve or need to resort to radiated meat or running out of ammo.

It's going to be very dependent on how well you know the game(stashes in particular), which class you pick, and whether you kill every stalker you can see or not. Personally food hasn't been an issue for me(I wish it were more so, something I might look at changing) but the ammo is something that has changed how I play as I need to use guns and ammo I normally wouldn't.

I also find I am fuel limited for cooking. Oh and finding 40 rounds of something nice is great.

I think you could edit death loot items or something if you wanted food on bodies to be less plentiful, same with meds. Ammo seems at a very good level for me; enought to force saving up the better stuff and use of weapons I might otherwise always discard.

I get heaps of food from stashes, this is where I get most of it I think. I'd need to edit it out and play to see how it feels but I am not sure how yet. Stashes are something I've yet to figure out.

Kcs123 could tell you more. They are located in some vanilla files, as well as some MISERY created ones. There is always just not using stashes LOL ...

Mar 17 2018 Anchor

maybe, I find them good for giving me a reason to move around the map though. I think that's important for how I like to play, and it also gives me a reason to explore. I'd rather not give that up.

I tried the mod but the vendors also have no backpack stashes. Would you consider adding them back to the traders inventory? I like to play with this mod but I am used to using those backpack stashes a lot and dont want to play without.

God, I almost forgot about the existance of this addon! I'm now playing with my rules that more or less are the ones of this addons limitations.

Is a new game required to install this?

you know I don't actually know the answer to that question sergio. Some stuff will work right away but I am not sure if everything will. And sure Mg2305, let me see if I can do that quickly for you.

Okay so I added backpacks. I tested it with backpacks in zaton. I added them to jupiter as well but I didn't test it as that would have taken more time. I can't imagine any problems with it but just incase I posted version 3.1 just under version 3.

Ok, thank you bro.

Is this add-on 100% compatible with Misery 2.21? I'd love to start a new game with this add-on!
