Strange, whirring sound and very fast death in Jupiter Plant Thread - MISERY mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

So, I'm running around Jupiter Plant but whenever I try to get into the plant itself, my screen turns bright and static appears as if I'm near a burer or a pseudo giant and there's a loud, whirring sound and then I start losing health rapidly. What phenomenon/mutant is causing this? I can't see anything. It appears that I'm alone but I'm probably not or what..? I've experienced it before, on the broken bridge in Zaton near the Ranger Station.

That is a poltergeist. Their Psi field grows exponentially stronger as they draw near. You want to handle them retreating from a distance. A good Psy suit, drugs, etc will help you survive being closer, but they are drawn to movement and not physically where you see them unless they are heading straight for you.

Ah, okay. They're a pain in the ass, that's for sure. It's gonna be a long time before I can afford a suit that'll protect me, though.

My tactic is eliminate other dangers then gets its attention and backpedal while firing. Since the only time you know where its body really is is when it is pursuing you. Stay well outside it's range and keep shooting until it explodes Once you know them well, you can lead their apparent position and nail them before getting anywhere in their range.

The problem is, I have NO idea where it is. I haven't seen anything. I wouldn't know where to look. I just die, it goes too fast.

Put yourself in god mode, temporarily, and have a look around. Where are you in the plant? The typical spawn is inside where you first enter the plant building where the controllers usually spawn too.

Hm, it's kinda hard to explain exactly where I am...it's at the back of the plant and the corridor that I walk down is blocked by debris. I don't wanna go into god-mode. I'll just find them some other time when I've got better armor thx though.

You could post a picture to help I only suggest God Mode to identify if it is a normal spawn, or something flaky going on. It's up to you
