Don't know about u guys but I think the repair items is the best addition to the game. Yet the requirements are bit awkward.
I can understand where a repair kit is used the weapon has to have some repair value left. (High enough conditions). But why give high condition requirements to solvents, gun oils etc. Seems to me we can add oil/solvent to any weapons under any conditions.
So I kept the repairs value but lowered the solvent and oils requirements so weapons with zero conditions can be cleaned and repaired without visit the tech guys. We should be able to initiate the cleaning and repairs in the field.

Also realistically field strip Ak family rifles are 20x simpler than NATO rifles. So it would make sense give NATO rifles higher accuracy and AP ability, but high requirement for repairs. AK family rifles receive 0 requirement for repairs make field strip a lot easier.

I think the idea is partly game balance (i.e it's just the flavour used for a low end repair kit), and partly that oiling a gun with damaged parts isn't going to make it work any better.

Sure it can seem a bit gamey to have limitations to such items, but i think it makes sense within the game.
In real life a weapon can suffer numerous various damages, and only some of those can be fixed with oils.
In the game there's only one issue; "Condition".
By removing the limitations, you could essentially fix a cracked weapon with a bend barrel, missing firing mechanism, deformed chamber and so forth by simply pouring enough oil on it.
I don't think any amount of oil is going to fix this: Img.photobucket.com ;)

I was referring to the Ak family rifles in the field, where they have high tolerance for dust and dirts, they do get jammed up from time to time.
I have heard ppl use shoe string dipped into oil and pull through the barrel, dip the parts into solvent, would be clean enough for the Aks to function again.

If something sever happened to any weapon showed in your picture, I highly doubt any repair kit can fix it either.

Who left their rifle laying in the road to be run over? Repair kits contain various spare parts so you can swap out broken springs, firing pins, etc as well as stocks and other large parts that meet mishaps like that poor abused weapon.

What's wrong with wanting to fix it with a strip of blind dog intestines and a splash of vodka?! I call victimization!

Seriously, with the amount of dog fat I've used to grease my guns, I'm surprised they don't bark when I pull the trigger.

Bloodsucker tentacles should make good alternate pipe cleaners for cleaning barrels. Cat and dog tails should work as well. They really could add cat gut as a byproduct of skinning kitties. That would be far more useful than the tails.

I don't know man, it would be weird to see someone trying to stick tentacles in to gun barrel for cleaning. Dog and cats tail sounds like great options.

I'dl like to see more cats parts, and more value for them too, since they are harder to hunt.

Lol I'd like to see that gun bark. But hey adding dog fat to Ak is ok, I doubt M16 family rifle designer was thinking about dog fat when he designed these parts tight together.

Zone Cats have those weird red pouches on the sides of their faces, those would be good as a body part. I guess cat meat too. Cats are too small for pelts really, considering blind dogs don't give pelts either.
