Hi all, just what the title says. The only thing that's taking away from my personal enjoyment right now is the really low carry weight. I know I can get gear or do whatever to make me able to carry more, but I don't want to argue all those points. I just want to edit the files to suit my needs :)

Has this functionality been taken away? I found a year-old post on Reddit that said

"Look in /gamedata/class_diversity/[your_class]/gamedata/configs. There's should be a system.ltx file there. Open it with a text editor and change max_weight variable to whatever you want.

Next go to /gamedata/class_diversity/[your_class]/gamedata/configs/creatures. Open a file called actor.ltx. Change max_item_mass to the same number you used before. Next change max_walk_weight to something higher than the number you used for max_weight and max_item_mass. max_walk_weight determines how much weight you can carry before getting the "You're too encumbered to move" message."

....but when I do all those things, it still doesn't change stuff. Am I missing something? Thanks!

You can use a program like notepad++ (or notepad) to edit C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stalker Call of Pripyat\gamedata\configs\misc\items\items_outfit.ltx. Each outfit has an additional_inventory_weight and weight2 which basically expand how much you can carry and your maximum carry weight. Increasing these factors on any one outfit (make them both the same) by 10 Kilos would allow you to carry 10 more kilos and raise the point at which you would become more fatigued. You can edit every outfit, or just the ones you use during your style of play. Everything after a semicolon (;) is ignored. So if you enter your change to an outfit with additi to be additi 10 you would have 25 kilos more carry weight and see your original setting of 10 after the semicolon. After you become more proficient you can see the original value should you decide you made it too easy. A Player could, of course, decide to make the game more challenging than designed and reduce the carry weight of any or all outfits by reducing how much extra the outfit can enable carrying. Realistically, only an exoskeleton with motorized assist could add to a players carrying capacity outside of lore based artifact type weight penalties/benefits. So, some might want to tweak things in that direction too.

Entry above should read your change to an outfit additional_inventory_weight equals 35; 10 The forum does funny things if you use an equals sign in your text.
