Anyone else notice a lot of bugs with this mission in Pripyat? Every time I try to do the mission, one of these things will happen:

  • The Mercs see me before everyone has gathered there and start attacking/running away, even if im not in front of the window
  • No one shows up, and it says mission updated a few times and then tells me to go tell Kovalsky the results of the mission, even though I didnt get to kill anyone or even see anyone
  • If I DO go and tell kovalsky about the results, the game crashes

Its looking like i might have to skip this one... though I was really hoping to kill the ecologist and get the red keycard, and make mercs more present in the area

I got the first one try hiding in the room next to the one you spawn in.

I experience the same problem (I don't about the crash as I haven't tried), it seems to be caused by the duty squad that spawns south of the apartment complex, more or less at the same place that the mercs, so as soon as they spawn they start shooting at each other causing one of the targets to die and the other to flee, causing failure of the mission.
The duty squad seems to have a ultralow respawn time, so killing them before the mission is not possible afaik.

Eh, I just used the spawn mod and spawned the ecologist guy, killed him, got the card. I never talked to kovalsky about it. On a slightly related note in Pripyat, I finally got to the final mission and did it, but not a single person survived - all wiped out by monoliths :(

one of the main issues have now been solved:

When talking to wounded NPC’s the game no longer crashes.

Yasti has now been awarded the “Friend of MDT” achievement.

Where exactly can i find fix for one shot mission when talking to Kovalski....??? Plz link it Yastiandrie

Yeah, it's the duty squad. And I can confirm that killing them doesn't help--by the time I have run back to base and started the mission, they've already respawned. The ecologist guy dies before the mercs even walk out of the building. Kind of bummed out that I can't do the mission. I don't suppose there's a file I could edit to keep them from spawning until after I finish the mission, is there?

On another note, I don't remember duty ever showing up in Pripyat in CoP vanilla. Is this something MDT added, or am I just oblivious?

The mercs getting spooked and everyone bailing just happened to me 3 times. I'm still trying to find a work around. I will post if I figure it out.

I'm having a similar bug, but not exactly the same: The mercs spawn, come out into the courtyard, while the ecologists spawn far to the south and start walking towards the courtyard. Suddenly, the ecologists disappear, the PDA tells me 'mission failed', and the mercs run away. I *have* tried shooting the ecologist leader from far away before they disappear and then quickly shooting the merc leader before he runs away, and I can kill both of them and loot their corpses, but I still fail the mission and Kovalsky tells me so as well when I go back to him. Anyone have any ideas on what's going on and how I can fix it?
