Well it started after a while, its small but pretty noticeable. I'm not talking about the big stutters when running through the map, but a minor one when looking around or the best example, moving around a table in skadowsk.

Even with constant 60 fps the movement isn't completely fluid, not a big deal but still pretty noticeable.

I've tried disabling the villains: SSAO, AA and Sun Rays/quality but the problem persists.

Then I tried Alife setting: 900/1 600/1 and 450/1, resulting in WAY more microstutter.ww

Tried Alife 200/10 microstutter still happens.

I have maximum pre-rendered frames = 1;

Also my stash is a bit overloaded, about half it's inventory size. I know this can cause problems sometimes.

I'm thinking this may be related to unlocking monster spawns when I visited unexplored areas in the map because I don't remember this kind of problem when I started the game.

Edit: I just noticed another strange thing. Sometimes when walkig forward there is a small "jump" as if 1 or 2 frames were simply out of place, like y+20 on the coordinates.

I've never seen anything like this, and i've played since snes was released lol

Did you recently accept the hungry mercs mission? There is a pronounced performance drop between when you accept it and complete it. Are you frame limiting at 60 FPS?

Jul 7 2015 Anchor

Yes I did. I remember that before completing it it was VERY stuttery.

So I rushed to end the mission. I thought all the stutter would go away...

I know, i'll try a new game to see if still stutters.

In fact I limit it to 55 fps because there are some drops to 55. But neither 60 nor 55 solved it.

Edit: Hmm still a bit jumpy in the new game but a bit less than the main saved game.

Do you think that one save with mercenary quest completed can affect all intances?

Will I get the same stutter even if I kill all of them without doing the quest?

Hmm I'm getting this issue in other games when moving the mouse aroud slowly. Looks like there is some minor frame skipping. It's more noticeable in CoP though...

Maybe your mouse battery is about to quit. No, once the hungry merc quest is completed you should be fine. It doesn't corrupt saves, just wastes processing power constantly checking if you have enough food yet until it is done. Frame limiting works best at 5 below your lowest average.

if you play the game for more then a few hours it helps if you save then quit fully back to the desktop & then load the game back up, also if you play the game & alt \ tab or swap out of the game out of it like I do at times to check my emails etc that will make it run slower with lag over time.
could it be if you save or reload a lot that might fill up the game live memory & files ?.
also I think most of the lag or stutter is caused by memory leak. I use a frame limit of 61fps.

I could be wrong but that is what happens on my i7 4770k rig & my i7 3770 test rig ( I do pc support etc, but I am NOT good at game related stuff lol ).

Gord have you tried updating your graphics drivers?

Jul 10 2015 Anchor

Updating my drivers now. I'll try to record what's happening...

It's very strange, it's not a constant stutter but in some areas frames sometimes "jump", like, 1 or 2 of the 60 frames simply change place.

It's as if my gpu buffered an old frame from 0.5s ago and rendered it after.

Never seen anything like it.

Watching at fullscreen you can see some minor skipping. The problem is more frequent and stronger in other areas so i'll try to record those.

Thinking of reinstalling everything.

In the iron forest the problem is much more noticeable.I was using DSR so the recording is a bit strange but you can see the problem very well. It's much more bearable in the rest of the game but still annoying.

And yes, this happens w/ DSR off too. And only in this game.
Anyone ever experienced something like this?
