I am using a modern colt 1911 with Hydro Shock rounds wich are supposed to do Very High tissue damage.

However it's taking 5-6 bullets to kill a pseudo-dog...

I've also unloaded 50 bullets to the face of a Pseudo-Giant and it didn't die. I know he's supposed to be resilient but 50 .45 bullets of VERY HIGH tissue damage didn't kill it?

Maybe I'm doing something wrong or this ammo is weaker than intended, or maybe pseudo-things have way to much health?

You want to shoot most mutants like Giants, Flesh, Boars etc. in the behind or flanks. They have hard heads ... and lots of hit points ;-) I never use pistols, always a shotgun. One of the pistol packing stalkers may give you tips on pistol effectiveness. Sometimes I kill them with one shot, sometimes it takes several. I assume I'm making more glancing shots sometimes. Get up on top of something they can't climb and pick your shots.

If I remember well, Trapper (or some other stalker) advise to attack the Giants from the top. Harder than the flank or back of boars/fleshes, especially because the stomp attack works in height too.

Pseudo-dogs have a much better toughness than normal dogs. It's headshot or a full clip.

I AM headshotting them.

I was on yanov today with a beretta and unloaded 3 JHP HIGH tissue dmg rounds on a psy-dog's face plus 2 or 3 in it's body and it didn't die.
I believe HIGH dmg bullets in the head should kill smaller mutants with 1-2 headshots or 1 head 1 body shot.

Pseudo/Psy dogs are fast and deal high damage, they can't be so hard to kill, it just makes them annoying, not challenging.
Yanov has nearly no rocks or places to climb, wich aggravates the matter.

That or tissue damaging ammo really needs some buffs even if it comes in less quantity.

Giants do not feel pain. It is mentioned in game by npc's. They wouldn't drop until they literally fall over dead and they wouldn't not even know why.

They I imagine feel like Novocaine injected flesh feels. You know you are damaged, but do not sense it being painful. As for dogs, they are blind and wirey. Maybe just to stupid to die lol

They both have massive hit points too.
