Hello,

So I've noticed two things about misery's bestiary. About birds and hamsters. I wanted to ask if everyone noticed them too :

- birds : they just seem to follow you. I mean when you get outside, you see the birds just circling over you, and when you move, they follow you, and if you stop, they start going in circles around you... Which is kind of impression breaking :/

- hamsters : they never really attack you. I mean when you explore the prypiat access tunnel or the AA volkhov complex in jupiter, they just run away or run into you without attacking. I think of all my misery hours, I've only been attacked once by hamsters.

Does that happens to you guys too?

Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get you ... The birds are just for atmosphere - until 2.2 that is :D

No they don't follow me, but then I don't smoke weed ;) Their flying through walls of caves will startle the shat out of you.

Hampsters were largely used as tell tales to clue you in to direction to head. I would like them not to help, but only attack when in packs of 3 or more and run when not.

It's not about being paranoid, it's just observing their flight pattern. You'll notice than when you're standing still they'll go in circles over you, and when you run for a while then look back, the birds will follow you until they reach you and strat circling again.

Well, it depends. Birds never follow anything, except their own scripted paths. Tushkano may follow you, depending on game progression, hardcore MISERY or non hardcore. In Hardcore, at jupiter, I did notice this. Their barking in the nearly silent night with only a flashlight would cause you to startle and literally jump in your chair. In non hardcore, they are far more rare, and also, I believe that the frequency of their spawning is affected by either overall game progression or perhaps the quests and choices you have made. I have played 4 unique game starts, and each has slightly different patterns. In non hardcore MISERY the tushkano just run around where-ever they infrequently might spawn, mostly it is the blood suckers which are the most common (completed game run).

In Hardcore the Tushkano will actively seek you out.

Also, as others have said, if you simply stand and observe, you will quickly note the repeating flight patterns. You notice this when you are waiting for some length of time and have a spare makarov with surplus ammo (for generally this purpose) and start shooting them. As you may have already noticed during desperate times that they can carry some items.
