Before and after Kindergarten quest ctd saves Thread - MISERY mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

So this is really a reply to the locked thread on Moddb.com

I see Yastiandrie hasn't been active since dec 2016 and I messaged him this also. In the meantime here are saves for both before and after the Kindergarten crash in case you need it.

This is a well known bug answered dozens of times in the forum. FYI, this has been fixed for 2.2

Edit gamedata/configs/alife.ltx with notepad++ or notepad changing the switch_distance from whatever you chose during install (default was 300) to 10 so it reads switch_distance = 10 ; 300 ; 950 ; 150 ; 350 ; 450 ; 500 ; 550 ; 600 ; 850 metres

Load your save, speak to the medic then progress through the cut scenes until you are finished in the laundry building. Save. Edit back to whatever distance you were using before.

Yea, I only saw that one thread and I think someone said they wanted a save and someone else said it didn't work for them. Either way here's an easy solution.

I'm not sure I quite believe you about 2.2 you will probably have to let me try it for myself so I can make sure

That is one of the instances where a workaround always works. The only exception would be where someone has corrupted their saved games by using quick/auto saves or has a ridiculous number of items in their inventory/stashes. It is also the first method to try when you have problems. It eliminates any problem spawns which could occur from affecting your alife radius and gives you a chance to relocate outside the effects and save so you can proceed.
