Like many, I was really frustrated with Misery at first for the steep difficulty curve, so I re-installed and wen't with Rookie mode, and suddenly the mod felt a lot more 'fair' I think.

But I still have a gripe with it, and that's the eating/drinking/repairing/fixing animations and stuff. I am literally wasting hours of my life watching these things over and over. They're there, I've seen them now, they're alright, I just don't have the time for them. I don't mind the sound-cues.

I know they are done in the name of 'Realism', but honestly I am not looking for a completely authentic experience, only a semi-authentic one, so is there any files I could edit to just get rid of them? Not use them? Actor-effects or something?

Now that you are getting the hang of things it's not so hard, Right? You are over the animation experience and there are those regularly asking to load magazines by hand one bullet at a time for hours before heading out... I think there is a small camp that would like both ways; minimal animations and can't get enough animations. It is beyond my skill set, but I will ask around.

I'm getting the hang of things now, yeah. It's not that bad. I only have a gripe sitting through the same animations every time I need to eat/drink/fix (which I do frequently).

Combat-restrictive animations like Healing/Hunting animations make sense, you shouldn't be able to heal/loot on-the-fly without risk and it forces you to think and approach hostile area's with caution and tact, and should you be forced to heal the tension will be sky-rocketing through the ceiling, which is awesome.

All the other animations is mostly post-combat stuff that you can do anytime you find yourself within a reasonably safe area, and the amount of seconds you'll be idly watching the screen with nothing going on waiting for the animation to finish quickly add-up to minutes the more items you need to click... And there are A LOT of items in this game (which is not necessarily a bad thing). There is no tension in it, It's just busy-work IMO, you're just waiting to get the necessary actions over with so you can move on.

It's a good mod though, I truly do find the harsh conditions you're in compelling compared to vanilla.

The repair ones I don't mind so much, but the cooking can get really tedious when you have like 50 meat to cook. There is a cooking mod for that though

Moddb.com

Let's you cook multiple meats in one go...it makes a huge difference.

Multi cooking feature will be included by default in 2.2. release, making a lot of people happy :)
