Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.
Personally designed by the aspiring General Mau, the ZTZ202 Shenlong (which literally translates to 'Spirit Dragon') is a heavily modified version of China's iconic ZTZ200 Overlord Tank whose entire turret has been replaced with two heavily armoured, high-pressure flamethrowers. In addition, the tank has been equipped with an auxiliary engine unit which provides its turret swivel with extra power to perform a fast, finely aimed sweeping motion with the flamethrowers which can be set to a narrow, medium and wide angle in order to cover a smaller or larger area in a literal sea of hellfire. Beyond that, it is rumoured that General Mau is currently working on a further modified version of the tank which can be equipped with modular weapon systems.

It is very similar to the Dragon Lord tank from 'The European Conflict' mod (now called 'Deep Impact').
It's similar to a dual gun flame tank, which wasn't invented by us (European Conflict/Deep Impact), nor contra nor 'place random mod name'. Just like dual gun tanks have been done for ages, dual flame gun tanks are no different.
Kinda date back to either Tiberian Dawn or Renegade (where flame tang got a turret).

This is so...just like their version of our unit....nothing else...in which way this unit can be original and different than ours?
In the same way yours is sooo different and original from say the nod flame tank in cnc3. Using the ovie chassis is out of pure logic - why would you create a totaly new chassis that would eventually end up being almost the same in style. As for double barrel flame tank - for **** sake it's been done since cnc 95. It just had 2 treads instead of 4. Claiming originality over something as simple as a dual barrel flame gun on quad tread chassis is like claiming originality over vodka flavored condoms, even though flavored condoms exist for decades.

Fact - if one thing exists since decades and 2 people see it, it might, MIGHT just pop up the same idea for both of them.
Fact - just because 2 people use the same idea that ALREADY existed in a more or less similar way - doesn't make ANYONE of the 2 the original brain behind that idea.
Fact - almost nothing in contra is fken original. It's either real life stuff or based on some game/deviant art design. So claiming originality over something that is based on an already existing concept is frekin useless.

Using concept from another game, or someones drawing is not the same as using same idea (same in so many ways which i have already explained) from a existing mod for same game and publish it as their own. At least you can have different looking unit for that purpose. He said that he was waiting someone to popup about that, so he was aware of all that. Is it too hard to make something different for same purpose? I know, it doesnt make any sense to argue here between rotr fans. But i just couldnt look at it and not saying anything. And such things are more and more often lately.

A lot of real life military design rip off/copy/inspired from other known designs and almost no one complaint about them. So unless it's the usage of actual models without owners permission there really shouldn't be a problem...
Heck, we can argue all day about how the MiG 15 is a total ripoff of the F-86 or that the Tu 160 is a copy of the B-1 Lancer... These examples are intentionally bad to show how dumb such arguments are.

You mistake me for a fanboy. I am simply trying to explain to you that a dual barrel flame overlord is not something only contra had imagined. Hell i drew/coded one for European Conflict years ago. And we don't claim any rights about it. It's a very simple and basic idea. The reason Hunter was expecting this is because you among a few other contra members/fans have been accusing people of the same **** before over basic as **** ideas. Get this already - a flame overlord is nothing original. It's not even close to the idea of original.
If I may pop a line as the designer of this unit.
At the time I draw the sketches for this tank I had not seen the tank you use in contra.
I found your design after I completed the initial model.
The Overlord chassis was only choosen because of logical reasons, like many real experimental tanks use allready existing chassis as well.
As a desinger I allways try to go for the most original ideas, finding other designs simmilar to mine is actually a reason to start all over with my design process to make things as different as possible.
In this case however I personally did not see any reason to do so.
