C&C diehard fan (specifically generals, Westwood Studio produced C&C), successfully built and launched several popular maps online for Warcraft 3 in the past, and I like long walks on the beach... with a thompson in hand and dug-in Nazi Germans lying dead in bunkers. I would love to begin development of new maps, but no mods... at least for now.

A reminder that you do not need to use ROTRBetaFull_172 [RotR version 1.72] unless you do not want to use the ECA [among many other great additions] and/or the Generals. So saying that, be sure to get yourself the latest full beta such as 1.8v which is the current one that has a beta test update to bring it upto 1.802 [not to be confused with 1.82]
I have 17 years of C&C: Origin. Countless attempts have been made on my part to loop hole the script. The following is my only success. INITIALLY PLEASE READ THE STEP AND THEN FOLLOW THEM TO MAKE SURE THINGS ARE DONE CORRECTLY, IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND ANY OF IT INITIALLY, YOU WILL UNDERSTAND AS IT HAPPENS AND IT WILL HAVE YOU PREPARED.
step 1- remove origin installed generals (IF INSTALLED)
step 2- make sure a torrenting program is available IE Utorrent
step 3- make sure you have the following programs (or similar programs, but these are simple and effective) and their newest versions Alcohol 120% for mounting virtual discs (.iso files) and winRAR for unzipping .RAR/.zip files(these are very useful programs so it wont hurt to keep them around)
step 4- go to isohunt.com and search "C&C Generals [R.G. Mechanics].iso" (there will always be at least 1 seed so no worries) and also go get the ROTR file too.
step 5- click the blue text button with a green arrow pointing down to a hard drive, the text will read Download .torrent
step 6- When download is finished open it and open Alcohol 120% as well.
step 7- drag the file labelled "C&C Generals [R.G. Mechanics]" file(this is a .iso file) into Alcohol 120% and above the text "No Media - Eject" and let go (congrats you just mounted a virtual disc to a virtual ROM)
step 8- now it should automatically start the set up or else you just need to double click it. its a simple "next, next, next" system now... you have generals and generals:zero hour simultaneously installed now, but now we must modify Zero Hour
step 9- now go to the file you downloaded earlier labelled "ROTRBetaFull_172" and extract it
step 10- open the extracted file and double click the file labelled "ROTRBetaFull_172" with the red arrow pointing down at a bulky looking hard drive icon
step 11- keep hitting next and do not worry about the need to delete any files or what not, just mindlessly continue into the extraction process, oh and dont forget to consider reading the agreement as you never know what you may find written in it
step 12- DO NOT RAGE QUIT IF IT THE EXTRACTION WINDOW READS NOT RESPONDING! The installation is still underway and the largest file is being extracted currently, there is no issues to frat about. The game and mod should all be installed.
step 13- BE SURE TO TEST THE FOLLOWING TO SEE IF THE GAME IS INSTALLED PROPERLY!
A- start game and start a skirmish, do not need to play it, once you enter it build some things then rage quit, because you need to do this 2 times more +1 per every other mod you have installed
B- open up the mods using quickstart at least once
C- open up world builder in-game and then from launcher as well and always agree to terms (should prolly read that at least once ;p) and click on every tool especially height tools
D- Reinstall everything if there is at least one error as the game(s) did not install correctly
