The Empire has fallen and a New Republic is born out of the conflict. But in the ashes of civil war, yet another life stirs...
Goran Beviin was born on Mandalore sometime before the Clone Wars. He was old enough during those wars to fight alongside then Mandalore Fenn Shysa, who influenced Beviin a great deal. Since then, as with most Mandalorians, Beviin took up a life of bounty hunting but his skill brought him to the attention of Boba Fett, eventually. The two of them did not get along at first but Beviin would eventually become as close to what Fett might call a friend as one ever could. For a time, Beviin and his husband even housed Boba Fett and allowed him to live on their farm.
Beviin was known as something of a traditionalist and his tools reflected this. He wore a suit of blue beskar armor and was rumored to own many unique and often illegal Mandalorian artifacts including crushgaunts. Beviin also carries a very old but very well maintained EE-1 blaster rifle into combat, which he uses to great effect. He was also a skilled pilot and owned a personalized Gladiator starfighter which he called "Beroya" or Bounty Hunter in Mando'a.
In later years (after the events of the mod), Beviin would be a key player in influencing Boba Fett to rethink his alliance with the Yuuzhan Vong. Additionally, he and Fett would help train Jedi Knight Jaina Solo so that she could confront her brother, who had fallen to the dark side and taken the name Darth Caedus.
Inb4 I get asked...
1) Yes, the EE-1 will have it's proper SWTOR sound effect.
2) Yes, the Thermal Imploder will have it's proper Battlefront sound effect.
3) And yes, I forgot to include the cooldown for the imploder ability. It is 25 seconds.
Eeeee! :D
Glad you're excited. Lol
Very nice. I hope heroes will have a good long cooldown, so loosing them actually feels like it matter somewhat.
Either that or have some sort of temporary nerfing of the hero that the player has to rectify to get them back up to full strength.
For instance, if that one Mandalorian hero who commands a Keldabe Battleship is defeated in space, he is limited to a shuttle or fighter and has to travel to a planet capable of capital ship construction to obtain another flagship.
If a Jedi or Sith is defeated, they could lose their force powers until they travel to an appropriate force-focused planet (Korriban, Degobah, etc.).
This could prevent losing factions from getting a massive boost when there heroes respawn even though the wouldn't be able to muster equivalently powerful units otherwise (Vader's Executer suddenly respawning above Corruscant when it's the last Imperial planet, making the ensuing battle drastically more ********).
Yeah. IMHO heroes who respawn should not have powerful space vessels ever or like you say nerf them in some manner. Like you say a suddenly respawning executor is ********. :D
Yes, heroes aren't going to be entirely reworked but I do want them to matter more. To that end, I will be making each one more powerful than they used to be but will also make their respawns a bit longer. In this way, they do give you enough of an edge that you will notice when they are gone...and pay the price if you don't use them wisely. Hopefully it will inspire people to play more tactically, rather than unit spam or whatever.
I remember Ram Zerimar being an absolute beast in the old version. He could pretty much snipe anything from afar.
"He's our star sniper" after all ;)
Nice seeing the new props in action in that preview, looks amazing!
Thank you!
Damn.. This mod is just aesthetically amazing. The unique art direction on the characters and ships... I can't wait to get my hands on this!
Glad to hear it. Thanks!
"Shysa pulled us together once. Now it's time for you to do the same."
―Goran Beviin, to Boba Fett
Yes :) If you think about it, this resurgence of the Mandalorian is really kind of Beviin's thing...He just didn't want the responsibility of Mandalore and knew Fett could actually pull it off.
Ah Goran Beviin, I always did liked him, he would have made a great Mand'alor as Boba Fett said but yeah I can understand why he wouldn't want be Mand'alor.
Any plans for other Mandalorian heroes? From what I been able see, Aliens become lot more seen within Mandalorian ranks when Fenn Shysa and Boba Fett were Mand'alor given they become more powerful during that time.
They do. Representing this in-game is a bit of a challenge though and the ranks were still predominantly human. All of the major heroes that were around in 24aby or thereabouts, we're certainly such.
Fair enough.
Has information I brought up regarding Clan Awaud and Beroya gave new ideas?
Some. I don't know what or how some will get integrated (perhaps they will not) but knowing more about the lore only helps, even if it doesn't get directly placed into the mod.
