Originally seen in Galactic Battlegrounds and Force Commander:

I've taken artistic liberties and draw more from the SW:GB version but I still feel like this is a better fit for the Remnant than the SPMAT...which is technically a Clone Wars-era unit.

Now, that's what I call a mobile bunker with artillery cannon and seemingly reflective armor. Nice work. I don't want to spam you with suggestions but it would be cool to see the Sp.9 anti infantry vehicle: Starwars.wikia.com in your mod. I think it would give you much artistic freedom to design a real round shaped Stormtrooper tank with clean imperial aesthetics. Ah, and in this case I agree with {HEROIC}Hunters opinion about you. I hope it's going on with your amazing mod!

Thanks all!

I won't be adding that particular unit into the game. I think the 2m tank fills that role well enough and the Empire already has more vehicles than the other factions anyway (as it should be...but we don't want to get too crazy).

I'm always happy to get suggestions though.

Not at this time. GB didn't really have space units and ground is just about finished.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

A note: I was never "gone" from this mod ;). When things go dark or get silent for a bit it almost always means that I am working on SFX, code, animation, or other things that can't really be placed into a screenshot. Other mods have the ability to do those things and still post shots because they have a team of people that work on multiple things at once. Since I'm working mostly alone on this mod, each part takes from my own time...and also from "picturable" updates. So thanks for hanging in there even when there isn't something pretty to look at. It means a lot!!

So...will this need to deploy before use, or will it fire without needing to deploy?

If it needs to deploy, I imagine it's a matter of making it sit on the ground, because that'd be a heck of a stable platform.

Also, would totally just go with M.A.H. (treat hovertank as one word).

"MAH's here boys; I'll take good care of you."

On another note, this looks like a moving arty bunker, and this fact is, for some reason, strangely pleasing.

It does deploy...exactly how you imagine. Lol. It settles onto the ground and points the cannon skyward.

As for the name...MAH is funny. Don't disrespect my MAH. The alternative was MARTH (Mobile ARTillery Hovertank) and it just screams Fire Emblem... Lol.

I imagine the "Yo MAHma" amongst the less professional troopers would be endless...

The fact that it's deploy animation is as expected is, similarly to it's design, strangely pleasing.

I hear ya. Its not the most...creative unit in SW lore but it IS canon (pre-ep7 anyway). End of the day, I can take artistic liberties but the unit is what it is...a box with a gun on it. Lol.

I think the higher tech one that has sloped armor would have been better, you could have switched the 2 guns of that variant to 1 and just had the hull look the same, it's a bit odd looking this way.

What do you call an imperial tank with no legs?
MAHT

Description

The Mobile Artillery Hovertank (or M.A.H.T.) is a simple yet effective design that has lasted for years in service to the Empire. Originally developed as an alternative to the multi-legged SPMAT walker, the MAHT saw only limited use in the early empire, as long-range artillery strikes were often unnecessary because the Empire's navy could easily bombard any entrenched targets from orbit. Since Imperial naval strength is now far less that it was during the Galactic Civil war, the need for a reliable mobile artillery platform has grown again. So it is that this well-armored but slow vehicle has been put back into production.
