Purgatory is too nice... Maybe the circle of Hell reserved for avarice or fraud. Then again, the 9th and final level is for betrayal, so I guess that fits too. Satan, Brutus, Judas and...EA.
I like the AT-AT parts near the structure. Gives a sense of the Remnant not having the full manufacturing resources to build a walker all at once.
So...Mandalorian buildings have a very...combat-ready bunker look to them. The Remnant seems to have a more bunker-ish look, but rather than martial, they look more industrial. Makes me really excited to see the NR structures now.
Could be the same reason they ditched most Imperial tech as soon as they could. Lots of people felt it looked too imposing (it did, by design) and it was a reminder of Imperial oppression.
Now I just have this image of Grevious with pockets full of ATAT parts in my head though.
I hate to ask yet more GC-related questions, but does this mean all three factions are moving towards a single vehicle factory setup? I sort of feel like there are positives and negatives to such a thing gameplay design-wise.
Yes, they will all have only a single vehicle depot. Consider, the Consortium was already like this in the base game. That was one thing that made them kind of OP. Multiple depots means faster build times...and if I don't have to take up a building slot with another type of factory, then there is more room to increase my build times withe multiple of the same factory. Make sense?
If all factions are like this, that "bonus" is negated. Additionally, that building becomes much more valuable in skirmish mode, and simplifies Galactic Conquest a bit, which I like. Not that I want to water down GC and make it boring...but I just never saw the point of having to build X, Y and Z buildings to unlock vehicles which were already locked behind tech level barriers. Just make one factory, then the vehicles will unlock as you tech up.
i fully agree. Honestly all respect to the Thrawn's revenge guys but I find that their more deep and complicated take on GC is not my cup of tea at all. There is just too much to consider there.
The barriers also never made sense to me either. Why would i require a barracks to build a light vehicle factory? why do i need alight factory for a heavy? it's not like they get upgraded. the old buildings remain right where they are. It makes no sense.
I contributed some models/textures to that mod but tbh...I never played their GC lol.
But I agree with the sentiment. In most cases, less is more. I hate games with excessive micro and games that try to overcomplicate things. In order to do X, you have to build A,B,C,D,E and have so many researches, etc. Don't get me wrong, some micro is fun and you can also over-simplify (Dawn of War 2 anyone?).
At most, you should have two of everything... A basic version and an upgraded version. Having a basic, slightly upgraded, upgraded, highly upgraded, very upgraded, SUPER upgraded, GODMODE...Just excessive. Too much of a grind. Obviously this changes depending on genre...I do love my RPGs but for RTS, just give me an easy-to-understand economy and get me into the fight. Total Annihilation is one of my no.1 games for just this reason.
I'm not providing one. You'll get the update when the mod is uploaded here but providing an exact date just isn't realistic when I have a job and wife and am doing this for free. The mod is likely only a few weeks out though.
This is the LAST Imperial Remnant structure. All that is left is the structures for the New Republic!
And this is THE LAST DAY OF THE REPUBLIC!
The AT-ST parts are an interesting touch. Looks like the thing is actually being used now.
I'll forgive your egregious error because you complimented me so nicely. Lol
Dammit. I was tired, okay? XD
In my best Lemongrab voice:
UNACCEPTABLEEEEEEEE!
would be a cool twist if the factory itself suddenly starts walking
All terrain armored factory. Hmmm...almost like a baby world devastator
I think the Command and Conquer 4 Offensive Crawler beat you there.
We don't talk about that game. May it be forgotten in purgatory forever.

Thanks! NR will of course have softer edges, as is true to form for their designs.
i wonder why the rebels didnt steal the AT-AT-parts ... would be another fine addition to their collection

AT-ATs sound like a maintanence nightmare anyway
Nice!

The atat heads outside is a nice touch
Is there a release date yet?
