An expansion/overhaul mod of epic proportions, with entirely rebalanced gameplay, expanded factions, new gametypes, graphical overhauls, and five new factions; stealth-based Confederate Revolutionaries, tower defense-inspired Atomic Kingdom of China, economy-focused Mediterranean Syndicate, DotA-esque Order of the Talon and spammy Electrical Protectorate.
Carrying eight extremely lethal anti-tank missiles which can fire from a long distance away, the Longbow acts as an anti-tank "sniper" of sorts, able to quickly and effectively kill enemy tanks from extreme ranges. With it's special ability "Alpha Strike" the Longbow fires all it's remaining missiles in a massive volley that will destroy almost any vehicle. It must return to the Helipad to rearm when out of ammunition.
It's nice, but since this is going to be the first chopper that needs to reload, I don't know how that will be. The Twinblade doesn't have to reload, and still, it's very dangerous.
Remember that this is a long-range helicopter. Its travel time to the landing pad with be a lot shorter compared to bombers like the Vindicator and Century.
On top of that it does made damage from outside retaliatory range. It's a lot like real attack helicopters in that regard.
So long as its not going to be OP it should be fine :)
I think that as a "high tech heli", it could be more "armoured and modern" like RA1 Longbow. Like Mastiff and Beagle, which were "taked" from the 1st war, why Confederate also dont do the same with "AH-64 Longbow"? With some modernuzation and upgrades? But its your mod, so dont bother with it.
No, you see, this IS the AH-64 Longbow (technically this one is the ANH-55 Longbow), the RA universe one from the 1950s, not the modern one. As a result, it has to look a little Korean War-ish (hence the steel frame tail) while still resembling the original idea. It's by no means a modern, high-tech helicopter, though it certainly was 15 years before the start of the campaign when it was first built.
So... this mens that this Longbow is a "older" version of AH-64? Like its grandfather, which served somewhere during 1st war? ... Mastiff looks like Tiger, and Beagle like Sherman... so maybe this Longbow would be that... "weak", but I think that even Confederate would give it MORE armour on it, as their best heli unit, hmmm?
It's gotta stay fast and light, though. The Confederates value speed over armour as they have to stay mobile. I imagine they actually removed the useless aluminum plating over the tail for weight reduction.
Hehe, I see :D
Btw, aluminium is quiet light element, when you will compare it with iron , steel or titan :P Or any another alloy.
Titanium is actually roughly as light as aluminium but as strong as steel; there is a reason it is used in planes.
Hehe :D but still it isnt used :) but nvm abou that xD
thats because titanium is alot more expensive than most other alloys or metals
That flat nose throws me off every time.
Its so flat!
It needs at least some resemblance of aerodynamics doesn't it?
