An expansion/overhaul mod of epic proportions, with entirely rebalanced gameplay, expanded factions, new gametypes, graphical overhauls, and five new factions; stealth-based Confederate Revolutionaries, tower defense-inspired Atomic Kingdom of China, economy-focused Mediterranean Syndicate, DotA-esque Order of the Talon and spammy Electrical Protectorate.

DISCLAIMER:

--Please note, I am making the following arguments seem more important than they are for their own sake. I feel they are valid, but not quite as urgent as the following Wall-O-Text™ will make them seem.--
Ok, there's something that's been bugging me for a while now. It may not be all that important, and it may not be the most pressing matter in the world, but I just wanted to make my opinion known on this.
The names of most of these units are way too long.
Not the names of most of the infantry, mind. "Jiang Shi," "Grenadier," "Minuteman," those are all great. But the names of our vehicles are quite, ''quite,'' overlong. For instance, "Sidewinder Burrow Tank". Will anyone ever refer to this as anything but the "Sidewinder"? A lot of vehicles are named with their "moniker" followed by two or three words describing what they are. Why do we need to call it a "Bulldog Tank Destroyer" when a simple "Bulldog" would be much more iconic and memorable?
I haven't seen this in any other RTSes, though my RTS knowledge is admittedly rather lean. In Starcraft II, do we call it a Banshee Stealth Bomber? No. We call it a Banshee and we know that as soon as that starport goes up, we had better get some hydras pronto or our hatchery is worse than doomed. To take this "Other RTSes" thing further, look at the original units of RA3. The Sickle was named just that. A Sickle. It wasn't the Sickle Light Walker or anything of the sort. The players knew it because "Sickle" was iconic in the RA3 hivemind as being a walker that all infantry everywhere lived in fear of. Our own Scythe carries on this proud tradition, but most of the other Soviet non-tanks really drag their names out.
A lot of the game's vehicles are okay for this, in retrospect, but the Talon are undoubtedly the biggest offender in long names. "Champion Air Defense Walker." I'm almost out of breath just typing it. "Champion Walker." Much better.
I can tell you what this principle doesn't apply to: Vehicles with names that are exactly what the vehicle is. The Dump Truck. The Remote Car. The freaking Fusion Torchtank. Those are entirely different. Going back to SC2, no one calls the Siege Tank the "Crucio." It's a big ugly tank that sieges. "Siege Tank" is perfect. TL;DR: Names are good if they are either the unit's model type/nickname or names indicative of the unit's purpose. Making a unit name that has both seems overlong and is a bit of a mouthful. I propose we name our vehicles like we name our infantry: short and iconic. How about you guys?

I think we just list the full title on the wiki because it looks better, expecting everyone to just use the first word.

Like everyone says "Guardian" not "Guardian Tank" in game chat.

I don't see a problem with that system.

hrm. the problem is at the moment we don't have a system. some pages are called their full names, others the short. See the "Sickle" versus the "vampire leech walker that looks like a headcrab"

Actually the Starcraft wikia call the Banshee "AH/G-24 Banshee"

Personally, i think the Wiki should have the full name, "Beagle Light Tank" its more descriptive than "Beagle" with a quick look and no overly long like "UEF T3 Spy Plane: SR90 Blackbird "

That's it's designation, just like the Beagle is actually the M4 Beagle Light Tank, not it's in game name.

Well, since I do not own the English version I cannot say what the units are named like ingame, however I would prefer a correct system throughout the Wiki, either all vehicles and stuff in full descriptive names or only the short names. I.E. Sickle <-> Vampire Leech Walker. Either it's Sickle MG Walker (or something) or simply Vampire.

I say shorten them. The details should be on the pages themselves.

The strongest reason to do exactly like Tayya prupoused is that when i write Sickle I will directly come to the sickle's page (because I wrote the full page name), instead of having to choose from several pages. Ofcourse this doesn't mean the Kirov Airship will be named just Kirov, scince ingame it's the Kirov Airship.

Right, I after a peek at the wiki I saw the Zhukov war Zeppelin. Which would become Zhukov Zeppelin. Which abbreviation would be ZZ, which is awesome.

Someone was doing redirects for that reason. Psychotic Loner, I believe.

Fur-lined guitars and awesome riffs are necessary to serve aboard one.
