Some ideas for Empire | Locked | |

So, for now I had 1 idea for Empire. It would be a ship which is basicly armed with 2 rocket launchers as a mid-range artillery ship. Its ability is "transforming" these 2 launchers into 2 double-barreled pulse cannons to AA support. If you dont like that, you can change it so as basic it will had 2 pulse cannons and after "transforming" 2 rocket launcher against air units. In other words, it will be "floating Cannon VX". And one idea is in my mind about a tank which would transform into the walker, but I must think about it more. |

Well, we do have a floating VX ship, though it's weapons are closer to the VX turret than you're suggestion. We also have a ship/mecha called the Mech Kappa which is armed, in ship mode, with rapid-fire rocket artillery. We also have a mecha/tank called the Mecha Nezumi. In mecha mode, it has a long-ranged indirect artillery cannon, but it transforms into a heavy, slow tank (relative to the other Japanese units) that, while rather lightly armoured, is highly effective against tanks. |

I just try it, nvm And you know that Imperial units had a names of some Japan stuff like "Naginata" is kind of Japan weapon, "Shogun" is general, "Tengu" is mythical bird and "Oni" is demon in general. So I want ask if you will give some units names based on this? Oh and I am not sure how you mean mech/ship unit. How a ground unit can transform into naval unit? This means that ship is ambhibious like Assault Destroyer or ambhibious is mech? And one idea for infantry unit. Something like heavy version of Imperial Warrior. Could be named Samurai or something Can had a "laser" katana or spear and armored |

Well, we have generally stuck to Japanese mythology in the naming scheme and inspiration. For example, the Kappa is a mythological water-daemon. In mecha mode, it's a squat, goblin-looking thing that is amphibious (it swims), and transforms into a boat. Reguarding infantry, we have an idea somewhat like that, a slow, late-tier infantryman armed with a massive sword that can cleave apart tanks! As for an advanced Jet Tengu, the point of the Allied Achilles fighter is that there is no equal; you'll need to use numbers or land-based anti-air to shoot it down. We're not taking the "everyone gets some version of X" approach to Paradox. Instead, each side has very distinct strengths and weaknesses, and units truely unique to them. Nobody will have fighters or bombers as good as the Allies, tanks as brutal as the Soviets, units as fast or flexible as the Japanese, tricks as underhanded as the Confederates, or guns as strong as the Chinese. With so many units to play with, each side can have the basic units (infantry, anti-tank, tank, fighter...) and still have tons of room for unique and characterful choices. |

I see There is one name which seem good for me, Samehada (Shark Skin). it is a mythical fish or something And will Empire had something like "advanced Tengu"? |

No they will not. They will have some new aircraft, and the new mechanics for the Skywing will make it a formidable anti-air fighter, but they will not have an advanced fighter. |

i had a idea for new name of Starspirit Battlecruiser. What about Isonade? Its in mytology a large shark-like creature so maybe it could fits to you, but this is just my idea, nothing happend when you will reject it. |
Jan 30 2009 Anchor | |
No offense, but what is your obsession with sharks? |
Jan 30 2009 Anchor | ||
Sharks? they are my favourite water animals Also tigers are my favourite, and Japan mytology had only some shark-based creatures, weapons etc. |
Jan 30 2009 Anchor | |
Well, you'll be happy know that China's animal scout is a tiger. |
Jan 30 2009 Anchor | ||
yea china should have tiger for scout or a panda bear :v |
Jan 30 2009 Anchor | |
A kung-fu panda bear, perhaps? :3 But no, China has enough kung-fu already. Wait till you read about their commando! (We're gonna try to finish all the army lists ASAP.) A hint about the commando? Okay, sure. |

Yeah, tigers rule!!! But this is about a name for Starspirit, I think that its current name dont fit to Japan naming system, probably only English name... |

Is Striker VX a Japanese name? How about Tankbuster? The Japanese love borrowing English words and incorporating them into their language; most Japanese words for computer or mechanical parts are derived from the English words. |

Yeah, but its like you will name a Allien biggest aircraft carrier Stalin. |
Feb 1 2009 Anchor | |
No its not. If the Battlecruiser was called "Ackerman" maybe I'd agree. |

One idea, dont know if you will like or if there is a place for it. If you heard or better saw a series Transformers Animated, there was one Decepticon with interesting transformation, Blitzwing, which is also called "triple-changer" for its ability to transform into robot/tank/jet. When we take out a robot, there is tank and jet, and I want ask what you thing about it? |
Feb 5 2009 Anchor | |
Unfortunately, I'm not sure if such a transformation is possible or practical in the RA3 engine. |
Feb 5 2009 Anchor | ||
??? Mecha/Jet Tengu, Sky/Sea Wing and Chopper/Striker VX are what when "non-transforming units"? |
Feb 5 2009 Anchor | |
Ah, I see what you mean. I'm guessing Sketch thought you meant it was a 3-way transformation, which probably ISN'T possible, but a tank/jet would be interesting... maybe. The thing is, the Empire already has their army list finished, and the unit you describe would basically be an AT-Tengu - we're trying to be a little more creative than that. Oh, and Transformers is awesome. I never liked TF Animated much but some of the older stuff (coughBeastWarscough) is just great. |
Feb 5 2009 Anchor | ||
Yeah, Animated is very different, but more comedy And also film is cool, cant wait for 2 |

Umm, that three-way transformer you where talking about, isn't it possible to make it go in a certian circle like robot goes jet goes tank goes robot goes jet goes tank goes... ?? I think it would be possible as for example the tengu, when in mecha mode the secondary ability is change to jet tengu, and as the jet tengu its change to mecha tengu.. So what im saying is, just make it when its robot form the secondary ability is change to jet form, when its jet form the ability is change to tank form and when its tank form the ability will be change to robot form, and so on.. I guess that would be harder than making it a two-way transformer.. But im not a programmer, so what do i know Edited by: cloakeddk |

Well, I think that this is possible, but I am also not a programmer so this could answer a Paradox Team. |
