Man, I was hoping for a music thread so I could point everyone to the fantabulousness of Caro Emerald, who has a dangerous level of style in both her music and videos.

The most important moment in music is undoubtably when "Highway to the Danger Zone" was released. Everything from that moment has been in decline. I don't mean music; I think that the song may in fact be the high point in human history.

(For serious, it was probably the day Jimi Hendrix first picked up a guitar.)

Either:

1) The invention of radio. For the first time music was more available to the masses, changing scope and musical direction

or

2) The invention of the phonograph, which introduced the possibility of storing and replaying music. I can bet there are ten things within your line of sight influenced by this advance.

Seriously now: MTV (and youtube to an extent) sadly real music is shown very seldom at MTV in these modern times.
