With games constantly pushing the graphical envelope these days, it’s rare to find a mod that built on an antiquated engine and still manages to visually impress. It’s all the more rare to find that it was, for the most part, put together by a one person. Instant Respawn had the chance to meet with Long Nguyen, creator of the recently released Out of Hell mod built upon the Unreal 2 engine. He recalls the trials and tribulations of a 7 year long journey to his version of the perfect zombie apocalypse.

I already have the mega pack, it comes with unreal anthology with ut2004 ECE. And i tried it, but it still dosent work D:
I need some help with this. I download the mod, Unzip it with WinRar to the C:/Unreal Anthology/UT2004 And WinRar says this:
! C:\ Users \ Mathew\ Downloads \ Out_Of_Hell_2009_Release.rar: CRC failed in Out_Of_Hell\Sounds\Out_Of_Hell_Sounds.uax. The file is corrupt

Also says the same with 7-Zip.
What should i do? D:
Ahh, you must have downloaded one of the corrupt installations. Shortly after release, one of the mirrored versions got corrupt. The link has been taken down but it may still be floating around somewhere. Download this one to be sure:

After installation, install the Out Of Hell patch:

and then install the UT2004Megapack (installing this will prevent some crashes)

I really love this mod, its awesome, the atmosphere is stunning, everything just seems to perfect!
Only one issue I kind of have,
is there a way to make the zombie corpses stay after they get killed?
They always disappear as soon as they are killed and touch the ground.
Other then that, best horror mod I played in a long while <3

As for the ragdoll corpses, there's no way to increase the time they stick around without some coding. I had to limit the amount of time otherwise it would bog the system down even more, especially during the mobs. :)

I also forgot to mention, besides the great atmosphere:
1. The amount of detail is amazing! There is stuff everywhere, nothing looks empty, so much detail, its so impressive! It feels so real..
2. The story telling with notes and such deserves a award. Just the beginning in the police station... how everything looks, but the notes still tell exactly the last hours/days of the people there, it really gives a feeling like all hope is lost.
Your story telling is amazing, graphics outstanding, and to be honest, I bought UT2004 days ago just to be able to play this mod >)

it seems when ever i install this it over writes my ut 2k4 exe and just launches this every time. what might i be doing wrong? note: i have unreal anthology.
Hmm, that's extremely odd. Have you followed the install instructions exactly as they're written in the README? The Out Of Hell folder doesn't actually contain any files that replace or impact the stock game. Are you launching the game from a desktop shortcut?
i cant launch it from the desktop, it never works. well ill try again and see what happens (note: have to DL again)
