I've made a post about the Development of Out Of Hell which I realize is a few years too late but may still prove interesting to read! I talk about the process, some of my struggles and the decisions behind why I did what I did.

You can check it out here: Crcdevblog.wordpress.com Enjoy! :)

This mod is easily a 10 for me, specially the atmosphere and the magnificent soundtrack. However, it is poorly optimized in modern systems. Perhaps I came too late to the party to enjoy it. It's a bummer that my GTX card can't push more than 40 fps in this mod despite that I get 100 fps on Unreal Tournament 2004, Killing Floor and Red Orchestra Osfront to which are games running in the same engine (Unreal Engine 2.5).

The game runs at like 40 fps max on my 1060 lmao, can't find any fix anywhere.

However can someone plz just post what to do to fix the fps the forum no longer exists its really frustrating that no one will just come out and say what helps and just posts dead links plz help i love this game and really want to see every moment without skipping problem areas.

Are there any ways to improve the performance, the mod is completely unplayable in some areas due to how low the frame rate gets and reducing the graphical quality doesn't seem to help.

After a few years I finally decided to play this mod on a newer PC than I had at the time. Specifically a Core i7-3770K @ 3.5 GHz with a GTX 980. Running at my native 1920x1200 I regularly get framerate dips into the teens regardless of detail settings. Dialing the fog back helps somewhat but it's not ideal and doesn't completely fix it.

I've read the comments here and apparently there was a thread on the Out of Hell forums that listed a bunch of fixes but that forum is dead now so there's no way to check and see if was just "turn the fog down" or something more useful.

I know it's a long shot considering the age of this mod, but any help would be appreciated.
