Out of Hell has been chosen to receive the first feature coverage on InstantRespawn.com, a new magazine-styled gaming website that seeks to cover a wide breadth of topics and games. From mainstream hits to the obscure fringes of the gaming scene, Instant Respawn writes about it all. Read on or click the banner below for the full details on 'The Making of Out of Hell'.
With games constantly pushing the graphical envelope these days, it’s rare to find a mod that built on an antiquated engine and still manages to visually impress. It’s all the more rare to find that it was, for the most part, put together by a one person. Instant Respawn had the chance to meet with Long Nguyen, creator of the recently released Out of Hell mod built upon the Unreal 2 engine. He recalls the trials and tribulations of a 7 year long journey to his version of the perfect zombie apocalypse.

This mod is looking very good on screenshots, however it's not so cool ingame, but (!) I think it's because of this old engine which I suppose shouldn't be used for productions like this, I'd like to see this on Source engine. It would be much better. Level design is awesome, textures are awesome, but because of engine it looks very raw/severe.
Of course, I respect that you put all your heart into this project and I like this game somewhat, but I still think that this should be done on different engine.

Maybe you should learn that its not always about the graphics, atmosphere and story can be delivered in an older engine too, you will get used to it after you had played a while.
Look at Crysis, perfect graphics, but everything else is boring crap!
Mate, trust me, I played games even without graphics. However I still think that there is something in this mod that doesn't suite and I'm trying figure out what is it.
And Crysis is crap indeed. But I love ADOM game, here is screenshot from it:
Tripalot.com
So trust me, I know what is atmosphere in game.
and i say the different, source should not be used, like this engine way more then Source, this looks amazing to even be at this engine
I didn't say that I don't like this mod. It's awesome, but still there is something I don't like about it and that's not a reason to bury my comment.
I do have a right to don't like something :P
I cannot get this game to work with my Unreal Anthology version of UT 2004, i followed the directions to the letter..im guessing its because Anthology has all the executables combined into the anthology launcher or something
actually i figured out how to do it but now i am lost on the first level lol, i cannot find Alvarez
many have that problem and the key is to search exactly every corner, alley and such :)
Today's the day that Out of Hell is supposedly having a first patch release to the public. It's about 12 noon in the Pacific coast and there's no signs for the download.
maybe wait for tommorrow and see, as far as i know, he mentioned it will come this week, never a date, so lets just wait
