Out of Hell has been chosen to receive the first feature coverage on InstantRespawn.com, a new magazine-styled gaming website that seeks to cover a wide breadth of topics and games. From mainstream hits to the obscure fringes of the gaming scene, Instant Respawn writes about it all. Read on or click the banner below for the full details on 'The Making of Out of Hell'.
With games constantly pushing the graphical envelope these days, it’s rare to find a mod that built on an antiquated engine and still manages to visually impress. It’s all the more rare to find that it was, for the most part, put together by a one person. Instant Respawn had the chance to meet with Long Nguyen, creator of the recently released Out of Hell mod built upon the Unreal 2 engine. He recalls the trials and tribulations of a 7 year long journey to his version of the perfect zombie apocalypse.

I don't suppose someone could help me out at the beginning? I entered that gang camp and talked to a bunch of people, and found Smiley, but can't find the person for the next objective. I was able to find a small house, go inside it, and out to the backyard, but I feel like I'm not making any progress.
The game crashes for me when I try and leave the police station through the kennel. It starts loading the next level, then crashes. This has happened twice now, and I really don't want to have to play through that level for a third time. Here's the crash report. I don't know if it'll be of any use at all, but yeah.

superb
the trailer makes me NOT want to look behind due to what MIGHT be there.... So it looks SWEET!!!
plz port to udk so i dont needz game
This mod uses UT2004 not UE3 engine
That's presumably why he wants him to "plz port" it, so he "dont needz game". Never mind that the guy's been working on it for 7 years.
34 fps is awesome! And much better than the below 20 many people are experiencing. It may have something to do with the mod containing plenty of hi-poly objects and other effects, and the engine not supporting latest hardware that great. Plus 64-bit OS needs to emulate 32bit programs, thus reducing performance slightly.
Also, did you install the patch?
Yeah, I installed the patch. Talking about it on the forums. It seems more playable in XP than Windows 7 so far, which sucks...but yeah. I think it's due to a distinct lack of proper DX9 support which it needs.
