The game takes place in the eve of the Seven Hour War. Fighting against blood shedding synths and frightening aliens, Adrian Shephard has to struggle his way with his fellow comrades from the Phoenix Command, with the main objective of stopping the construction of a Combine Citadel. In his journey he will find what has happened to the world, moments before the Seven Hour War.
Eventhough this is a week old we think it's worth showing.
1. Combine Soldiers have their own guns now.
2. The Pipe Wrench now does an animation everytime you fix the Gauss Cannon, so it doesn't look like you're beating the machine.
Soon we're gonna show the power tower collapsing and the new pipe wrench! Stay tuned!
In the first picture, He is a combine soldier right? He must be an alien soldier because Humans are not joined the Combine yet
If this mod takes place after the Seven Hour War, then humans are surrendered and the Combine began transforming them intro soldiers.

Damn, saw this in face punch but I shall be waiting for new pipe wench with great expectation.
Hopefully these soldiers aren't going to appear all the time, it would be hard to believe that the mighty Combine that won the seven hour war was constantly getting their ***** handed to them by a single soldier. It would make sense if they only appeared as frequently as bosses would in a game.
Pretty sure these are supposed be the main foot soldiers of the Combine army at the time. I think it would be the other way around, with these guys being common and other synths as the bosses.
Why does the hud at the top image have 50 round for the M16? o.0 Stanag mags only hold 30 and the surefire ones which look like the stanag mags but fatter hold 60. o.0
O well looks brilliant thus far. The new synth rifle looks great in game.

Hope it's more closer to the real world weapon, because the current demo has it acting like an SMG with a grenade launcher.
it's an accurate burst rifle for medium/long ranges while the SMG2 is more of a spray can that sprays bullets for close quarters.

Do you plan on recoloring the Swordfish? Maybe to match the Synth Soldier's Color Scheme.
not really. the swordfish stands out in the heat of the battle from other guns like the AR1 or the CLR. having NPCs carry different colored and shaped guns allows the player to easily identify which enemy poses more threat/which ones he should avoid the most/which ones he should take out first.
Do these synth soldiers have a different animation rather then the default combine one in Half Life 2?
to be quite honest we were planning on redoing the anims but we decided to leave the old combine soldier animations because they look brand new when you apply them to the synth soldier. since they're both really different sometimes it looks like it's a different set of animations.
Also Im wondering would these guys use shotguns?

I love that m16, so much detail put into it, and it has nice orgins... cant wait to see the anims, i hope they aren't like the robotic, plain ones in the demo!
