What is that-- a protoss?
It's a Prowler. It's based off an enemy that was cut from Half Life 2 early in production.
So, the combine brought Protoss from their world and now we have to fight them?

Half Life Wiki said that these guys were called the Combine Assassins and the female ninjas were called the Elite Combine Assassins...

Both Prowler and Combine Assassin are accepted names. It's called the Prowler in Raising the Bar, but it's called the assassin in the leak. This one is going to be called the Prowler.
Actually it wasn't ever referred to as a prowler in Raising The Bar, or even in any of the leak files. Alien Assassin, Breeder and Shock Trooper, were in RTB, as to where the name Prowler came from I have no idea.
Somebody probably just made it up (or confused it with Breeder) and it stuck.
I think the name Prowler sounds WAY better, and makes it easier to distinguish between this and the combine assassin
That's why we're using it, combine assassin could really apply to both assassins.

see here less human nature, diferent features and posture compared to the combine soldiers... doesnt quite relate now, but this is way awsum =D maybe just look into relating the 2 models (combine and prowler) to have same familiar feauteres and resemblance... this will make it seem like a more realistic alien race, instead of 2 complete diferent races... get what im saying? just a thought realy

Thay are transhuman upgraded human to be immortal and they have implants in their head so that makes them Superiour soldiers of them all

Actually, this was never called combine assassin, but alien assassin.
Hey guy, there is alien assassin animation in hl2 ep2 file.
Actually that video belongs to me, and those animations aren't in EP2 by default. I decompiled the model and recompiled it for Episode Two.

I prefer his original sleek athletic look to this model, as this ,to me, looks more like some kind of berserker than an agile assailant.
The old model that's floating around the web has pointy claws poking out from his tights, which I think was more bad *** than the weird toenail things this guy has.
It's not at all a bad model and I'm sure with animations and textures it will be awesome in-game!
Yeah we've discussed it with the modeler who made this, Isotope, he's still working on finalizing the proportions.

Zombie assassin
Zombie Assassin is actually pretty far from this one.
I'm actually curious about the Zombie Assassin model.. It doesn't have any animations, could it have been a step between Prowler and Fast Zombie?
It's an alien assassin, prowler, whatever you want to call it.
It's a protoss, specifically a high templar.
