People! Since release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl there was lots of MODS for him... Some of them was good, some- not so, but we enjoyed them a lot, played them for a long time and they keep STALKER alive. And now we must prepare for THIS, new STALKER GAME called S.T.A.L.K.E.R- Lost Alpha (i can't call it mod no more). This is a PINNACLE of all what was done before and my head can't even summarize the scope of this project. So much little, but amazing details was already spoiled, but how much they hiding from us and how much they will create in near future..? :D In short: my head is going to explode when this will be done. And if GSC will not hire all Dez0wave team after release, then it will be big mistake and STALKER 2 will burn in hell!!! XD

I do agree with you brother! This mod more like official game release than just another great, great mod.

Love this mod! Priboi Story also.

You guys really pull it on that one. Huge amount of work there. I usually don't tell projects good before release but this one here really looks like something else. Most Stalker mods bore me since some time as they repeat themselves but here some people really put thoughts into it and improve on the RPG/Adventure part which is what Stalker stands for in my book (not a shooter game in the first line). I'm also astonished what you got out of the game with all the bugs and limitations. Nice job.

This is just incredible! Lost Alpha, as it seems, would be so different from vanilla SoC that we might get shocked. I don't know if there will anything that will stop me from playing LA... And I'm serious about it. Looks like every single idea I've had while playing all three games (SoC, CS, CoP) and numerous builds came to life. And there are idea simply brilliant - and executed perfectly.
I guess GSC feels the pressure of this competition - Stalker 2 or Lost Alpha? My bet is for Lost Alpha, again.

Omg! This video shows ALL the features I ever hoped to see in the mod. I am so happy. Thank you Dez, thank you team. Mod of the year? Nay, Game of the year (next year that is).

I was clapping out of excitement in the middle of the video, Who does that!? The computer feature, you sneaky devils, I didn't see that coming.

AWESOME!!! Weapons & Suits upgrade system is better than in CoP and CS!!!
There was "lol" on 8 minute - watch The Gmod Idiot Box Episode 8...
So computers, modificated PDA and other things are just GREATE! But I am afraid Lost Alpha will not be relased soon.

Hi again Dez, I'd have to agree with everyone's comments here, this game addon will make the best STALKER game experience of them all! But as usual I'd have to comment on a specific feature that we had discussed way back when in the chat about upgrading weapons.

I could be wrong by the glimpse in the video of what seems to be the CoP weapon upgrade system. I believe we talked about fusing/combining artifacts and parts to make the guns unique in their own right. Such as using artifact material to make the gun lighter from the artifacts gravitational properties. Or possibly infusing bullets to fly farther or strike harder either by powder or shell material...etc, etc.

As a personal preference, I did not like the limitations that the pyramid system of upgrading weapons provided in CoP. I still prefer the original STALKER version of being able to equip anything (silencers, scopes, nade launchers) from parts I find, should the gun be able to hold those parts like their real life counterparts. The added realism in the STALKER world, that being anomalies affecting bullet trajectory would benefit the use of being able to fuse artifacts to better the weapon and therefore make the weapon more valuable to keep & maintain, or experiment with the arsenal of weapons in the game.

Well, yet again I rant, still this is only constructive criticism meant to provide thought about the depth that I believe we all wish to see the STALKER series become. I'd like to know yours and other people's thoughts about this. Still as ever, your mod is gratefully anticipated by me, and will hopefully be noticed by the STALKER developers who should hire you & your team of talented modders.

2 questions: can the player get his own computer like the one in the video? Maybe a laptop?

And can the car have some sort of parking brake to stop it rolling down hills?

Other than that it's more amazing than I expected!

I think the old zombie sounds (from 1935?) would be perfect for the little zombie dude, while other zombies can have the newer "mumbling" sounds.

Lost Alpha's looking great! I'm very impressed with the detail you are putting into the game when it isn't necessary for gameplay, but adds to the immersion.

For example, contacting STALKER's using the PDA for quests could just be given in person by the NPC, or information on computers could just be omitted for PDA and Documents for quest objectives; but you guys have opted otherwise.

I'm very excited to check it out once released!

Oh the months ima lose myself in this game (yes GAME not mod or anything else) are gonna be up there with the best moments of my life (which were spent in Greece with unlimited funds for two months, so that says something)!

Take care Dez0 and you're doing an awesome job and I can't describe how happy I am right now!

Have you considered to implement some sort of time delay when getting equipment repaired or upgraded?

For example, the more expensive a repair is, the longer time it will take, due to the bad condition of the equpiment (armor or weapon).

An expensive upgrade would require some parts, that the trader/repair guy will have to get from the big land before performing the upgrade.

The videos, and pictures look amazing :-).

You are building the game GSC developers envisioned, but could not make due to budget/time constraints.
You did a great job on Priboi Story, and Lost Alpha looks amazing :-)

Will there be CO-OP?

I am psyched for this addon! I remember finishing the game and thinking back to all the video and screens I've collected waiting for the game to come out, and how none of it was in the game.

The work and hours and hours of time and effort is paying off well. The new features really add more immersion, ambience, and more of an authentic feel and atmosphere of the zone, which the original game left out. Good luck with the mod and I hope everything goes well for you guys.
