boar sounds like boar :) about wpn sounds, we are using them from old builds :)

What about sounds of "screaming in agony dying stalkers" in background from Alpha 1935 - do you and your team restore this feature in LA?
this was discussed to death, dont you think? already said many times, that all sounds which are good enough will be added back to LA. why do you expect to hear 10000 screams of death in a short 2min video? in old alphas, only 5-10 sounds were played randomly in the background, while in LA more than 50.... simply cant understand you guys...

OMG! There are only about 150 Stalker's in LA, then in 2 minutes amount of stalkers in Zone will be about -9850 - Black Hole! :#

Please try to understand that most of these people (including me) expect their dream to come true out of this mod. Because this is the way they ACTUALLY SEE YOUR GAME. That is why they keep asking (stupid) questions - to make sure it will be PERFECTLY the game they've always wanted.
Dear fans (including me), please stop bothering the busy team with all your wants and nice-to-have-s! Somehow, I'm more than sure that this mod will really kick a** as soon as it's released.
Relax - don't be excited to much - it was a simply question - how the hell I should have to know that this was discussed - I don't track each comment on moddb... Chill out @dez and thanks for the answer! ;-)
hey, im not angry or anything, even if my post seemed to be like that. sorry for if it offended you. just its hard to explain, many ppl want to see many things, and yep, we use plenty of old sounds, they are played randomly in the background, so its highly possible that you wont hear it for 10-20 min, and then suddenly you will, then again nothing for 1-2 hours or even more. its all random, but no worries, those sounds are there. :)

Just a question. What will you do with sidorovich voice cuz ive pleyed build 1935 and he talks russian and then he sais i have a cople of missions for you
This may not fit perfectly to this video but: Due to the fact that mod's going to be a huge one, you could cut some unnecessary skins,sounds etc. from main mod and have 'em in an additional pack for those who'd be willing to 'sacrifice' more space from their HDD(and have more variation ofc).
I did like the more pig-like sounds on boar and more squeaky sounds on the rodents. Dogs, well, sound just like dogs :D
That billboard shot from the fall on the other hand... WIP or something? Bounced off wall instead of just falling :D
we discussed this in faq, that lost alpha is not a pimp mod, so only the necessary files will be packed with it. Nothing less, nothing more :)

didnt know that :) but still, i couldnt find better in the archives... and i dont plan to use mods.
Still the old sounds are stalker spirit, and I think they should be brought back :)
I think Arsenal's sounds are better than original ones (they are more realistic)
Heh,how about that sound? I mean in in the movie 1:03.Someone screaming,its taken from Half-Life.Did you leave that sound or change? Bcuz i think its pretty bad,and bored.. ;/
i dont hear any scream at 1:03, only around 1:07, but thats a dog scream from old builds. and nope, its not from half life :) i played it more than enough times, never heard this one.
That sound is REALLY from Half-Life... In Half-Life's sounds/ambience folder are few files called "horror(1-2-3-4...).wav", in SoC's sounds/ambient are files called the_horror(1-2-3-4..).ogg
That is NOT fail - those files are from FREE library - HL2 and SoC uses same glass break sounds (+car's collision sounds and HL2's barrel's hit sound...)

Dez, do you plan to add a ladders on that high stone chimney's in the middle of the factory on cordon and Agroprom or it may affect on balance of the game?
ladders with some area to stand on top there...I am a chimney sweeper and I care about this issue))
we didnt add, the chimneys are not highly detailed, thats why no ladder, its nice from the ground, but thats all :) on stancia you will be able to climb the block1-2's chimney though... and almost all roofs.

First, thumbs up dezodor, for all your work on Priboi Story and this very very promising mod. If it's as good as it looks like, I think it will make both the vanilla game and its mods pretty much obsolete.
I joined MDB because a few questions are still bothering me :
- Will the bloodsucker look and act like the one from older builds? I mean, reddish eyes, and starts moving slower once it's badly wounded?
- Are you gonna keep the alpha footsteps? In my opinion, the retail ones sound better, alpha footsteps are annoying me, they're fuzzy and arythmic, they sound like you've got a twisted leg. More generally, I don't like the alpha sound. Poor quality, except maybe for mutants. Even the weapon sounds are disappointing, too unrealistic, the AK74 unique wav is a pain, especially since it's almost the only weapon stalkers use in old builds.
- Well... that's quite a hard thing to ask, but... will it be stable? :D
- Is your new storyline gonna use each and every new level?
Keep up the work. You're awesome. Quite as much as GSC would have been if the paradropped THQ guy hadn't messed all the development up back in '04.

bloodsucker has red eyes in final game too, just play in static lightning mode. yep, he will use the so called "limping state"...
we like the old footsteps, if user dont like it, they can simply rename the materials.xr to something else, and then they will get the vanilla sounds. we dont plan to change anything else in that xr file...
we will try to make it as stable as we can do, and storyline will work on each levels we have.
