Heavy Gear Forever is a complete reproduction of Dream Pod 9's (www.dp9.com) Heavy Gear Universe. Heavy Gear was orginally a tactical and rpg based table top game, later Activision released 2 versions that lacked the total depth that truly is Heavy Gear. Our current crew is working extremely hard to make sure that HGF depicts Heavy Gear the way it should be.

Hi, kids! I kinda got caught up in other things, but I'm back now. My aplogies to everyone who missed us while we were gone.
Literally hundreds of man hours, if not thousands have gone into this mod (at least 200 or more of which is mine) and we're not about to let it die. Sometimes, though, we need to regroup. We recently got another offer for a coder, and believe me, if we just get the code to handle what we have already, we've got a great game lined up.
I'll try to get some screen shots in the near future, because the custom map we have is beautiful. It's so large you could have as many people as you could find on it and not feel crowded. Although I suggest against 32 bots, as the pathing gets kinda bad and they all get jammed in the hanger. :)
Our models speak for themselves, and we're even considering revamping the Hunter, our oldest completed model.
So sit back, relax, and enjoy where we're going, 'cause one way or the other, we'll get there.

Completly new here, I only registered so i could track the progress of this mod ^_^ I think you guys have a great idea here, im still trying to find info on the game modes that are gonna be in here. How about a Gear Racing one like in the TV Show, people gonna be able to get outta their gears? I cant think why I'd wanna get out, but it would be kewl. I hope everything goes well for this project, ill be checking here reguly (and improving my spelling) so laterz all...

I'm sorry. You are, indeed, right. We had a nice little site that went boom some time back. We havn't quite had the time to make a new one.
You have a very valid suggestion . . . And I will get on it as soon as possible. I'm unsure where we could host, since we're currently going on the good graces of MekTek and we don't want to drive up their costs.
I will begin the search for a server and attempt to find a coder for a page, or just break down and do it myself. I'm not too terrible at it.

I would make one suggestion. Your homepage...is a forum board. While I'm glad there IS a forum, and there's obviusly a high amount of communication and team effort going on...well...some of us have no idea what you guys are up to at all, with no set news files, no arvhices, no screen shots...etc.
I for one have allready tried to contact several people that were invovled in the mod, and all I got was each telling me the other was the one I wanted. COnfusing and annoying, and it would be alot easier with, agian, say a Team page.

I thought I was the only one in a tri-state area that thought Terra Nova was more an art form. I'm yet to be sold on the engine you've chosen, but I'll take ANY HG mod I can get. Expect a hefty donation once you hit public Beta. Good luck guys!
the renders that you guys have are really good. whenever you can fix the bugs, i would love to have a playable version.
See, the problem is we're not sure how far we are. We're close to a working alpha release (in-house alpha, sorry, I've already stamped about 60 play-crashing bugs and I don't want anything major slipping past) but we're far from getting anything close to a final release. We're largely using ut2003 maps right now. We have two maps we use, one of which is hard to test because of its size (but it's wonderful) and one is our testing gounds which probably won't even be released. It's pretty pointless as a MP map. It's got a firing range, airfield, etc. However, it's wide open and all the rest.
Perhaps we should go though and check what we have versus what we need and we can put little bar-graphs like I've seen a billion times before.
