Firmly sticking to the Half Life 2 formula, Deep Down is a new entry in the story of Alyx and Gordon as they continue the hunt for Combine Advisors in the area surrounding White Forest.
Combine Forces, Zombies and Antlions lay between them and the brooding menace deep below the earth that will test both their skills further than ever before.
If you miss the Half Life 2 formula and are tired of waiting patiently for Episode 3 then this mod is for you. Featuring new gameplay elements, fiendish puzzles and blistering action, Deep Down will provide your Half Life 2 fix (well some of it at least).

Finally made it over the finish line after a drama filled few weeks of technical issues with Source SDK. Deep Down is my attempt to recreate the game-play and style of Episode 2. I had no idea it would be so challenging. I must have lost days of my life trawling through audio files trying to find just the right phrase for each moment. Someone should seriously catalog this stuff.
In this mod you'll find 5 maps filled with combat and puzzles and hopefully some things you haven't seen before. I'm calling this version 1.0 as I'm sure there's room for improvement.
I hope you enjoy playing this as much as I enjoyed making it.

There are several hidden unofficial achievements built into the mod and I'll let the community at large figure them out.

We're back in business using a modified version of the episode 1 SDK!
Used the downtime to get some peeps to playtest and its brought up a few things that need fixing. Won't be long though as I'm on holiday this week and have tonnes of time to devote to this.
Well... Valve have ****** me.
Having downloaded the new VPK version of Ep2, the tools i need to use to finish this don't work. None of the old format mods work with the new VPK version of the game. All mods will need to be rebuilt to work with VPK.
That includes the new version of Station 51 that's just hit Mod DB.
I'm pulling the release date for this mod until everyone is up to date on the new version of HL2.

Everything you said, I have to agree, since all the mods I play, the one that is working is the Half-Life 2: Capture the Flag. For all I know Valve will take to mend them, and will have many people scratching their heads to convert their mods. Only remains to wait for... Valve... straighten out this mess.
Damn you VALVE!! I'm 2 days away from getting this finished and you break episode 2 for a stupid Linux port version update!!!

OK, this is pretty much it. Just did a full playthrough from end to end, all five maps. Took me an hour and a half. Anything I add from this point will really just be extra detailing for the hell of it.

Quite a few secret and bonus areas
Every weapon is in there but some are hidden (Magnum and Crossbow are bonus weapons)
Every form of bad guy is used I think
Alyx talks, a lot...
So, I have two more nights to clean things up then I'll be packaging it all up and posting it here for all to enjoy...
In that case it better not slip... giving it all my free time!!!
