This is a complete overhaul of the dialogue that is intended to seem more natural to American audiences, in terms of fixing grammar mistakes or simply making it sound more convincing. As an added bonus, anything censored will be uncensored to further enhance the dialogue. This will require a complete overwrite of the "flevel.lgp" file.

It seems that even though I have the video ready for posting, everything wants to go wrong. This time, it's the motherboard. It had receded into the tower for some reason, and the flash drive it's on will not go into there. No matter how hard I try. I'll try and use my Mac to upload it, but its an old, unstable PowerPC G4, so again, no guarantees.


I apologize for what may seem a quite minuscule and disappointing news post, but I've been bogged down with other matters, such as the impending end of summer, and that will slow down work. This is why I've posted for the openings--we still need them filled! We've only got four people working on the mod, and I'm the only one that has the tools needed. DiamonD has been occupied with his other mod, Blue Shift: Reassignment (which looks excellent, I must say), and Wiweeyum is... well, I'm not entirely sure if he'll be able to make some more images.


I've tried to set up a forum, but it hasn't exactly worked out. I don't have the software necessary to create the logos, which are required. Please, if you think you can help out, help out.

Image Contributors
Since the mod is as big as it is, it will need to look nice on ModDB and other sites as well. Image contributors need only have a rudimentary knowledge of English and an example of their work.

Video Designers
I'm not the best at creating videos, seeing as I'm limited by my current budget ($0) and what I currently own (MAGIX Music Maker 12 deLuxe). Someone will need to record footage and compose it with a creative twist, as well as be able to use original concepts and refrain from using templates and default settings. Windows Movie Maker does not count. Required files will be supplied, as well as codecs and plugins if requested. Again, you'll need a good grasp on English and an example of your work if you would like to work with the mod team.

News Contributors
I bet you can't guess what a News Contributor does. Fine, I'll explain. A News Contributor must create a neat, organized, and at least 75% professional article using the news that is given to them. You'll need to be fluent in English and your ModDB ranking must be 5 or higher. No example is needed, just three sentences that show you are human and that you can speak (type) in English.

Attention Getters
The job of an Attention Getter is actually very interesting. They go around to different forums that still have a strong FF7 fanbase and see if anyone is wondering about FF7 mods, or even FF7PC itself. When an opportunity is found, they present the mod in an appropriate manner, doing their best to sound like a real person and not an advertiser. You only need to know English and be well acquainted with different types of forums. Only two AG positions remain!

Website Hoster
If you have a website utilizing Apache, and you're willing to help FF7UE by allowing an SVN repository to be created there, or even if you already have a repository, we need you. An SVN repository is vital to the success of the mod, as it will allow easier transferring of files and other miscellany, allowing us to compare what we have created, and also share tools and other required files.


Other positions may appear in time, or disappear when we have enough of them. Please, if you are interested and qualified, do not hesitate to apply! Those who apply and enter the group get access to certain features and hard-to-find bonuses!

Essentially, the opcodes end up being

<mask for targets>

60 x [push values for an enemy attack scripted to do nothing; means the message lingers instead of disappearing instantly]
92 perform
93 - next string...
etc.

60 y [whatever comes next - either attack/ counter, or death animation]

As I said, if you need any help, I can write the assembly code for it.

i never finished this game even though i enjoyed it. but i always got annoyed with the repition. id b greatful if some kind individual could make a mod which speed up the gameplay process. where you level up faster so you can skip pointless repitive fights.

Ive called my mod project Genesis ive so far edited 25% of the FMV`s for example the intro is the PS3 tec demo and the ending is the begining of advent children. The only issue iv`e had so far is that the sprites won`t load anymore on the intro after my second edit and the music does`nt start till after the first battle now either....

It sounds like a good idea. There are a couple issues, though. Main thing: what are you planning to do with the rest of the FMVs? Also, I think that the length may need to be exactly the same as the original file, which presents a problem. Of course, I'm not sure about the latter, but still. Anyways, I'd love to merge the two. I'm swamped down with other matters right now, but I'll see what I can do. It's been a rough couple of months in the real world. :P

Closest thing I found was the "Atari ST Graphics File Format," which in fact is completely unrelated. Did you try renaming it? Extensions to try:

.png
.tif
.bmp

Try a whole bunch of formats--AFTER YOU EXPORT THE FILES! Anything else, ask _DiamonD_. He might know a way that I don't.
