Fallout 3 Reborn has come a long way since V1, when it was a crappy and simple weapon mod. Hell, the oldest version the public can get is V4, and I have no idea why anyone would want to play that. V8 is the final version for Fallout 3, due to several reasons, the major ones being me moving out and getting a full-time job and the upcoming release of Fallout: New Vegas, which yes, will be getting Reborn, as well.
However, with that being said, V8 is in no way complete, nor will it ever be. Here are some things that I will be releasing for V8 in the near future:
-The rest of the DLC mods (Broken Steel, Point Lookout, and Mothership Zeta).
-Updates to fix bugs, add new weapons in, add new air support, possibly add in a weather system and perhaps add in a cover system (not certain about this yet, so don't get too excited).
-Several "Mutators" to add in features requested by members of the community, or my ideas that I didn't want to put in the main mod.
I'll discuss the Mutator idea some more here. Pretty much, a mutator is a simple .esp plugin file that will add a slight change to your Fallout 3 Reborn experience. You can combine most mutators, although there may be a few that will contradict. Here is a list of the currently planned mutators:
Hardcore Mode: With this mutator, life in the wasteland is a real struggle survival, ammo and chem loot amounts are 2-4 times less, you take and deal more damage, not for wimps. Also, explosives in general will be FAR more rare (how many RPG's and grenades could there be in DC?
Pussy Mode: Can't take the heat? Apply this mutator. It doubles your health and makes ammo and chems far more common.
Stupid Supers: Super Mutants are far less intelligent (unbelievable, I know), and can no longer operate firearms. They will, however, charge you with their fists or a blunt weapon. Oh, and they have 3-5 times more health and deal far more damage (and can knock you over with a single blow).
Survivalist Mode: A mod focused on the survival aspect of life in the wasteland. This mutator will include a variety of eating, sleeping, and drinking animations, as well as an extremely detailed needs system that will require much more attention than the standard needs system. On top of that, if weather is ever added to the mod, you will have to worry about sunstroke and hypothermia. Combined with Hardcore Mode and Very Hard difficulty, you're in for a real challenge.
Melee Mode: Firearms are a thing of the past, armed with your favorite up-close and personal weapons, take on a wasteland full of enemies armed with pipes, 2x4's and knives.
NEW IDEAS:
Dilemma Mode: Leveling up is twice as hard, but that's only the start. You only get 5 skill points per level up. With a 30 level-cap, that's only 150 points total! However, the SPECIAL stats will play a much larger role in your character development, exerting twice their standard effects.
Only Human: For the most part, the wasteland is only populated by humans and ghouls (excepting certain ares such as deathclaw sanctuary, Vault 87, robco, etc.
Now that you've been updated on the plans for Reborn V8, I'm going to recommend some mods I use alongside Reborn to enhance my experience, these mods all posses features that are candidates for being added into Reborn:
Sprint Mod: A must have, enough said.
Enhanced Weather: Adds another dimension of realism to Fallout 3, I highly recommend it.
MMMF3 Increased Spawns: Increases the amount of enemies in the wasteland, great for action junkies.
nice mate, its good to see you've got a lot of goals good luck mate your going to need it :)
Hahaha, thanks man, but aside from the cover system, it's all easily doable.
awesome.
Thanks man :)
This guy doesnt need luck, he gets stuff done.
Yeah man, you know it!
What about a OMGWTF mod: unlimited ammo, but guns deal EXTREMELY low damage (and no ammo spawns of coarse xD)
i know this sounds stupid, but I dont have other ideas now =(
Sounds like the vanilla game, honestly :P
Fockin' 'ell
When yer done with the DLC's I'll finally be able to play the mod as it was meant,... at least, for the people with the DLC's.
Right now I'm trying to mod it around a lil' but I keep running into impossible things that just ruin it for me and make me turn off my game >.> I really hope you'll be able to fix it soon xD
I REALLY can't wait for the needs system, it'd be so much more realistic (Ala the first STALKER + Realism mods) and I wouldn't mind the hardcore mode as, frankly, any game I've played that allows levels of realism like Fallout, Metro and STALKER all allowed me to and I finished the games with those modifications, no problem.
Games nowadays are way too easy...
... That's why I absolutely love your mod x3
Yeah, I know what you mean, then I'm gonna do the hardcore realism mods, and start a new game in the dangerous and hard-to-survive wasteland.
NIce, love it. also nice to see New Vegas is basically copying off reborn with its hardcore mode lol
Yeah, I know, glad to see that Obsidian knows a good mod when they see one :D
Did you notice how all the guns are real-life weapons? And that there will be needs? I was like "YES!". Modding NV will be a snap.
Slayer, if I were working in Obsidian HR and had been aware of this mod, you'd be working your *** off finalizing New Vegas for launch right now ;) (Yes! You'd be doing OVERTIME! I'm sure you wouldn't mind though.)
Sadly, I'm nowhere near that hot. I don't decide who gets to work for Obsidian or any other cool company like that :P
Thanks man, and mind? I'd love it, hell, I'd probably do it for free :D
But, I am likely going to game development school, and in a few years, I'll hopefully be working for some sort of major company :)
First long post i've actually read on this site, everything is so interesting!
Thank you :)
I had a lot on my mind, I usually don't babble so much, but I wanted to record these ideas.
