Description

The V10 mod file. This is pretty much what Reborn was supposed to be like from the get-go. REQUIRES YOU TO ALREADY HAVE V9.0 (no need for the patch) INSTALLED AND WORKING.

Changes from V9.1

-Changed the vending machine cost of Quantum Cola from $400 to $200.

-Fixed up the mess I had made of the Light Step perk.

-Tripled the Nuka Grenade blast radius, it was FAR too small.

-Changed the amount of starting ammo for the mesmetron from 50 to 500.

-Fixed the EMP buy glitch.

-Removed the identifier tags on Aid Items.

-Made Ant Queen Pheromones make you friendly with ants for 4 minutes. They should come to your aid if you need it. (Useful for certian quests).

-Radscorpions can no longer poison themselves.

-Fixed "delay" effect display issue.

-Fixed a few travel terminal glitches.

-Tweaked the sprint so you can no longer run as fast as a car, and I upped the AP consumption.

-Added sprinting blur visual effect and a sound effect.

-Made it so you gain 8% mental alertness per hours slept, instead of 5%.

-Re-worked most food items to have more balanced and realistic stats.

-You can now cook meat in any oven (it takes 5 flamer fuel per item). Cooking meat prevents food poisoning and doubles the positive effects of food.

-Eating uncooked meat exposes you to the risk of Food Poisoning (about a 10% chance).

-Lowered the amount of food you can find on dead animals.

-Reduced the amount of food you can find in the wasteland.

-Added in a perk "Hunter" that allows you to take meat from dead animals, otherwise you won't get any.

-If you have the perk "Animal Friend" you cannot have the "Hunter" perk, and vice-versa.

-Removed the "Delay" field from the effects list on aid items.

-Removed most features from the reborn setting terminals, this variant of Reborn is designed to only work with certian settings.

-Added an ammo max feature that limits the amount of mags you can carry for all weapons.

-Added a weapon slot feature that limits you to 2 primary weapons, 1 sidearm, and 1 melee weapon.

-Vendors now have raised prices, and the sell prices are further reduced.

-ALL weapons now do 2x the damage they did in V9.

-Made robots even tougher than they were in V9 (about 4x stronger).

-Greatly increased the health of large predators (such as Yao Gaiu and Deathclaws).

-Greatly increased the health of large armoured foes (such as scorpions, ants, and Mirelurks).

-Tweaked a lot of the perks.

-Tweaked some food values.

-Removed the ability to disguise yourself as a Talon Merc, they are too well organized for that to work. Also, it caused some issues with hit squads.

-Improved the ammo reward for helping Agatha.

-Greatly reduced the amount of food and water points that aid items restore.

-Changed the railway rifle from automatic to semi-auto.

-Eat-O-Tronic's now cost $500 pre-war dollars to open (5 stacks of pre-war money).

-Changed the menu of the nuka vending machines to reflect the level of inflation that was present in 2077, also Quantum is now half the price it was.

-Some armors have extra carrying capacity for ammo (mainly the BDU's, and some raider/merc armor).

-I find it far to easy to become Jesus of the wastes, so you will now "bleed" Karma if you are good. The better you are, the faster the "bleed" rate is.
Can be disabled by typing "set KarmaBleed to 0" in the console.

-Buffed ghoul health.

-The Wired Reflexes perk now is actually useful.

THE PITT:

-Modded the G3A3 Stealth Mod to have an extended mag, perfect for CQB.

Couple of things, when you say weapon limit, does that mean we can't loot any more guns if we already have 2 primary's a sidearm and a blunt weapon? To me that seems unrealistic, you should definitely be able to carry 10 pistols to some degree. Also, an ammo limit seems dumb if executed wrong, so if we have the max ammo limit for a 9mm pistol for example, we no longer can loot any more 9mm ammo until we spend some rounds?

Pretty much, you CAN carry as many guns as you wish, but the game will force over-encumber you, slowing you to a walk. I doubt anyone could carry 10 pistols, even in a bag, they'd be extremely heavy, and since you don't have even a bag, I doubt it'd be possible. Of course, it brings up the question of where do you carry everything else, to that, I have no answer.

The ammo max is set so that you can only carry a certain amount of mags for guns, but you get bonuses for higher strength skills, and wearing armour with ammo pouches in it. The initial values are quite high, so it's not really annoying, it's just to prevent you from carrying 100 5.56 mags around.

Don't you think it should be 1 primary and 2 secondaries? And as for melee weapons,if possible you should make it relate to the weight, after all a single kitchen knife or baseball bat isn't much of a burden.

You'll find that having two secondaries is much less useful. There are far more weapons termed "main weapons" than there are "secondaries".

Amazing work on this mod!! love the survival element to it and the pure realism. I have to very small gripes tho :) 1- the weapon limit, I agree with 2 primary as one weapon could be slung over each shoulder but 1 sidearm? surely you could carry 2? is there no way of changing this anywhere in my game? 2nd thing is why does the ammo not have weight?

Thanks again for an amazing mod!

Glad you're enjoying it. If you have basic modding skills you could change this, or you can use V9, which is less hardcore. Ammo doesn't have weight, but there are limits set as to how much you can carry (depending on strength). Try carrying 500 rounds and see what happens ;)

Yes, the crash/freeze on perk select means you need to start a new game. Just be grateful it hit you early, I've had it wait till level 42 once...

Level 42! Ouch lol well il count my game as a practice run ;) one more question I have is what difficult does the mod run as I have it on very hard is that ok to use? I see some mods have to use a certain difficulty.

Use whatever you want, just be prepared for a fight. Even at a higher level, most enemies will pack more HP and deal more damage than you do. Only the most hardcore gamers (like me) can handle it :P

Fantastic mod Slayer!I love the realism in it lol I didn't realize how easy it was to get killed until the guards in the vault killed me with one bullet...One thing though, the absence of revolvers was quite depressing to me since I feel like revolvers give a more apocalyptic feel over something like a desert eagle. Other than that, the mod is awesome!

Yeah, you gotta be careful around gun-totting hostiles :P

There is actually still a .44 magnum, but the .32 was removed due to there no longer being .32 ammo, instead there is .300 win mag, which is a little large to use in a handgun.

Hey I just tried installing this mod with your very simple instructions by the way and Fallout 3 crashes every time. It will get half way to the start menu and then it crashes. Is this a problem with how i installed the mod or something different? I would really love to try this mod out so help would be appreciated if possible

Very super-minor gripe. If V10 requires V9, wouldn't that make it a patch, rather than a full version? The categorization on this file calls it a full version. Just saying :P

Slayer_2 Jan 28 2013, 8:35pm replied:

It doesn't require V9's mod file, it requires the ~300mb of model/texture/sound files used in V9. Mod DB uploads at about 1MB per hour with my connection, so I didn't really feel like going through it again just to officially say it's standalone. Plus it saves anyone who played V9 the hassle of re-downloading that large-ish file, only to find it's all duplicates.
