This is just the beginning of a major Single-Player project to incorporate different mods and improvements into 1 package.

Features:

  • Upgraded AI for both Rainbow and terrorists, using a combo of well-known mods and my own ideas. Rainbow teammates will now use hand-signals, as the start of an effort to create 'noise discipline' in the game, and they will also have a tighter formation. Terrorists will now patrol and be even more lethal. And if they surrender, you better secure them fast because they will not stay down long!
  • Dozens of powerful new sounds for many weapons and gadgets, with the help of Mikson. More on the way!
  • New hardened enemies created by myself, to go along with dozens of other fan-made models. The armored mercenaries featured in my video are available as a stand-alone download as well.
  • New template files for every mission, to give variety and more accurate enemy types based on the map and plot. Several small refinements have been made since the last version.

Elite Rainbow AI is also now available as a stand-alone (and very small) download, as an alternative to the rather large 'ECT' complete download. I am also looking at setting up a server!

Version 1.22 patches up some things, and also fixes a long-known issue: ROE will no longer switch to Assault every time you take damage!

Just put out Version 1.2! I listened to your feedback and until I can improve the terrorist AI, so that it doesn't cause errors with mission objectives, I have removed it by default. It's still great for Terrorist Hunt, so just check the readme to see how to easily add it back in. I have been working on Rainbow AI, and this update changes how your team will clear rooms. This is straight from the Ranger Handbook, and I believe it will lead to a lot more kills and less deaths while entering a room. I did a lot of testing but I would really appreciate more feedback. Twi's latest Supply Drop update is included as well.

Installed on a PRISTINE installation of R63 and all of its official addons (remember what I went through in the AllR6 forums? I AVOIDED that mess this time!). Overwrote all of the default files with the ones supplied in ver. 1.2 of the mod.

Load up the game. The mod is not listed, while only the game's official files are. Checked the "Mods" directory, and while "SupplyDrop" is listed, Twi's newest weapons/gear are not appearing in game. Only the default maps are unlocked, which means most of them are locked.

Any advice?

I just tested it on a clean installation WITH ONLY Iron Wrath installed. I made a small error and forget to change one of the files to match the readme, you should see "elite counter-terror" now in the custom game menu, whereas before it was listed as Twi's Supply Drop. Activate it and you are good to go.

Hey.

I've been playing with your mod for a while and I would like to give some constructive feedback.

First off, with the AI now constantly patrolling the area, it forces you to stay sharp from the moment the game starts, especially when the enemy placements are randomised so you no longer just blitz through a familiar area or route, thinking no ones gonna be there with a gun to your face.

Now that also has some problems. In some of the campaign missions, especially those that involve rescuing hostages, a lot of tangos that are stationed to guard the hostages often wonder away from their post, so you are likely to come across hostages unguarded and are able to just walk in and take them with you scott-free. Some tangos need to stay in place for that purpose in mind.

Also in the harbor mission which has you defuse bombs or take out a tango who can set them off, I've always found that guy and killed him within the first five minutes because he has blundered out into one of early areas, saving me the trouble of trying to sneak around to avoid startling the terrorists to blow the building up for the majority of the mission.

So in some ways, your mod has made the game much more challenging but in others, a lot easier and unfairly so.

Although, especially in the T-Hunt and Lone Wolf modes, even the challenging part becomes unfair because I often also have tangos spot and kill me also as soon as the game starts - particularly in small maps like Presidio. So I think spawn placements need to be adjusted to avoid terrorists spawn-killing you and your team mates.

One last thing, I often find tangos patrolling the map alone and I think it would be neat if tangos patrolled in small groups.

By the way, I believe you said you were planning to release an update about last week. How is it going, may I ask?

Hey I really appreciate the feedback, most of the comments have been about the terrorist AI so for now I will revert it to vanilla and just leave the option if you wanna try the new AI, which is more suited for Terrorist Hunt. I know it can be buggy for campaign missions, and I will definitely spend more time on Terrorist AI after the next update. And yes I am very close to finishing one that improves room clearing. I am currently testing it on every map and every room to make sure it works properly. It was also include the latest update to Twi's Supply Drops.

Nice work on the mod, i'm enjoying playing R6 again.

Just wondering about some of the AI behaviour, in certain situations once you are detected all the AI in an area seem to come at you at the same time, and have this tendency to pile into a doorway or a corridor.

If it was 2 or 3 i guess it wouldnt be much of an issue, but when 8 or more guys flood you in some kind of suicide yolo attack it kind of spoils the game, whether you win the engagement or die to it.

I honestly cannot remember this being part of the vanilla AI, so i was just wondering if this is something likely to be changed/fixed at a later date, or is it something i just have to contend with?

Also I should mention that you can easily go back to the vanilla terrorist AI by removing the 'EliteTerroristAI.utx' file from your texture's folder.

It has to do with the Terrorist's new patrolling state, which is based off an older multiplayer mod, and their increased awareness/hearing. You are right it can cause them to flood you in that manner and clog up areas. I am still looking for the right balance between making them less stale without causing strange behavior like that. You can definitely expect a lot of improvement and I appreciate the feedback. I'll have an update out this weekend but it's going to focus on squad room-clearing mechanics. After that I'll get back to enemy AI.
