The captain of Dain's vanguard, Murin is a powerful fighter who cleaves a way through the enemies of the Iron Hills to give the soldiers their opening.

The face, the weapon, the shield.... everything looks so epic!
I really like the idea of reworking the Iron Hills heroes to match the army; this looks epic! And he even uses the hammer used by some Iron Hills dwarves in BOTFA :)

Nice. I prefer non canon heroes to blend with the rest of the troops, like some sort of random captain and just that; nothing exalted.
In addition, the previous model had zero personality, nice work!

I don't wanna be a douche, but for the sake of honesty I have to say that he looks too much like a regular guardian. On the other hand that effect isn't so strong on Drar, for he is a crossbowman with a shield, has no helmet (which turned out to be really cool), and has the left paultron detail.
Maybe try and give a more original helmet to Murin (and leave this helmet for the the faction's banner carriers, I was already going to suggest that before today), and discard the shield and make his axe two-handed. As "captains' of vanguard and rearguard" will the roles of these two heroes be changing? Because these rank descriptions ring a lot like unit supporter.
P.S. IHs already suffers for having less heroes, I think this only makes it worse (still love your work, though).
Well, they are just captains, it's not strange that they look like their troops, like uruk heroes. It's a little annoying while playing, but I like that kind of "camouflaged heroes". Call me masochist if you will!
The problem is for them to look too much like their troops, Murin is almost irrecognisable from a regular guardian. Plus they lose any pretense at individuality or personality, things they should have since they are heroes, and should not be "just captains".
Third, these characters are based after two Games Workshop minis, if they deviate almost completely from their original models they cease to have any meaningful connection to them. As they are now you could as well give them any generic dwarven name instead of Murin and Drar.
Yea, we have different tastes, I know nothing about the Games Workshops franchise so I wouldn't mind them to be "generic", but I understand that you want them more unique if you know their backstory ;)

I find the Weapon and Shield perfect and would like to change them! :) but the helmet indeed can be somewhat different! :)
Another thing to disitguish them from Soldiers and Slayersm ostly is to give them different Beard Style! :)
Yes, give Murin and Drar bushy beards, and make Drar's brown.
P.S. I love Drar shooting from behind his shield, but that boar sigil is being overused.
Well I don't have problems with the Boar Symbol,after all it is Dain's Crest and House Symbol and the Main Motive of the IHs Army so I think it is perfectly fitting! :-)
I don't have problems with it either, in fact I love it. But it looks like a very special symbol to be used by the whole army, it should signify special troops instead of being attached to the common soldier, like a symbol for Dáin's personal guard, you see?
Well, it was on every shield of every soldier in the movie. :D

Hmmm... you got me at the White Tree comparison, and that actually makes me accept it better. But it's not true that every IHs soldier were it in the movie, or at least I don't remember, so I may be wrong.
Either way, maybe the boar symbol should be a bit enlarged in the tower shield upgrade. And maybe Murin should use a two-handed axe and no shield, given his role as a mass slayer.
I can vouch that every single Soldier who used Shield used that Boar Symbol Shield! :)
About Murin as I said may be differen Beard and Helmet but the Weapon and Shield I find perfcetly fitting and bsolutely great looking! :) I think that IHs Soldier should get that Extra CHain Mail on the Shoulder Parts too! :)
