Well, you really like runes on clothing, don't you?

Anyway, really beautiful work, definitely one of my favourite designs you guys made! You beyond everyone else deserve n.1 on the MOTY list!

Orcs shall whine and weep in front of the Iron Hills slaughterers!

They look simply said PERFECT!!Such a good combination of Edain Style ,Books and Movies, respect ET! :-)
P.S. I can only suggest a different Mattock and may br Sword to differ from Regular Army and may be some Boar Motive on the Shields!? :-)

Yeah I also think the mattock is kind of out of place. It feels like a farmer's weapon rather than an elite soldier from a stone-hard Dwarven Kingdom.

Dwarves are mainly miners, so the mattock fits perfectly.

So I know they wwere in the Books an I know Dwarves are Miners and Crafters, all I meant is to give them "bette/cooler" Mattock and different Sword to differ from Regular Soldiers! :)

I think this Mattock used by IHs in Movie will do perfect job...

And this Sword will be great for them but I think they should wear the Sword on their Hips not Backs since it is One Handed Short Sword not Long Two Handed...

Greetings! :)

Historically, it was the short swords that you would wear on your back, longsworsd were too unwieldy to draw from a scabbard from the back, those few seconds could cost you your life because you would have to draw the sword with both hands (historical longswords were 2 handers, arming swords were 1 handed and just called swords) you would be fully exposed both vs melee and ranged attackers.

Historically Shror Swords were Worn one Bakc when they were 2 mainly! But lets leave history aside mate and consider the Fact that these here are Dwarves and are much shorter than average Human Being and to them a Shor Brought Sword is like a Normal Sword for Human! And where Human Soldiers wear their Swords ussualy!?On their Hips not their Backs! And as you see Both Thorin and Fili used Big Swords,I mean Orcrist was Normal Sword for Elf but not for Thorin, for him it was like Long Two Handed Sword and he kept it on his Back and then Fili in BoFA Had Two Handed Dwarven Sword which is was much Longer than IHs Swords for thet Soldiers and Fili kept it at his Back too,so yeah I hope you get my point!

Greetings!

If you take your weapon from your back you'll leave a part of your front body unprotected for a small time, because your arm is trying to reach the sword on the back while at the same time leaving an opening where the opponent can strike without much interference. When the sword is on the hip you won't leave an opening, and you can strike the opponent while unsheating the weapon. In any case carrying the sword on his hip would be safer :P.

Well done Team :D
As usual you as a Team bring the most brilliant and unique concept and ideas that makes Edain a perfect mod :D :D
Honestly I'm a bit dissapointed for not implementing the movie mattock, but it still keeps the unique design from both the movies and the books.
Again, well done :D :D :D

The mattocks (axe-like weapon shown above) are held in both hands when the unit is in combat.

I love them! Absolutly astonishing model and skin!

It does justice according Tolkien said about them: grim, heavily armoured, fearless.

With their beards and red cloaks and clothes, they look like shorter but fierce Santa Claus :p

Description

The slaughteres are the elite infantry of the Iron Hills. Of all their units, they most closely resemble the descriptions in the book: Long, forked beards, a short sword and a round shield. Alternately, they can switch to their two-handed mattocks to knock down enemies with every strike. This makes them extremely powerful in melee, but they can't use their shields at the same time and therefore get -40% armor. This turns them into a priority target for enemy archers.
