Is it just me, or does (for some reason) it look like only the visor effect is in play here, without anything else in the shader package?

Still looks damn good. Well done man

I don't think so mate, look at the stalker to the left ( I don't remember his name): his head is a little bit deformed due to the refraction of the visor glass, and we can see some other spots of blur as well.

No that's not what I meant, what I meant was that it's only that effect showing, not the DoF, sunrays etc.

sunrays are there, but in the player's back, that's why you don't see them here. DoF and sunshafts don't really work together due to engine limitations, unfortunately.

Ihope there will be an option to disable them, as all they really do is just obscure the field of view.

Sure you can disable them, as you can any other feature in DS :)

However the effect is doing much more than just obscuring the FoV - it casts object reflections and refractions onto the (imaginary) glass of the player's visor. The black overlay is just there to visualize the outline of the helmet visor. Of course you can also just disable the blacking out - if that is what you meant.

Yes that is what I meant.

Is there a way the visor can be transparent and kind of look like it is more glass like?

if you disable the black it will look more glass like.

Description

Same as before, but with a slightly different overlay that might be used for exo or military suits. The outline can be adjusted. I'd prefer the former to this one, but that's subject to individual favor.

Here you can see well the effect of the reflected and refracted fireplace.
