Contra is a freeware modification for Command and Conquer Generals: Zero Hour real-time strategy game and one of the first mods for this game. It adds many new units as well as numerous new upgrades, new general's powers and buildings. It also adds new sounds, maps, bug fixes, enhanced graphics, and other effects, as well as three new generals.
GLA Desert Cruiser will be replaced with a new tank - Karkadann. It is armed with two battleship grade artillery batteries which allow to fire at long ranges. In addition, it has special ability - it can "resurrect" destroyed vehicles around itself.

Karkadann is a creature from arabic mythology - it is giant unicorn - master of the desert. Myths say that Karkadann is so big and powerful, that can kill an elephant. His horn has magical powers and can heal wounds and rise the dead. We tried to make a tank similar to it. It is big and powerful and can rise dead vehicles.
I.e. it can repair/rebuild destroyed vehicles?

Whatever the word "Karkadann" stands for, it cannot rival the "Shaitan" (which I believe is the arabic word for Satan- probably the best name for the masterpiece of Chinese heavyduty technology).
P.S: Nevertheless, the "Karkadann" model is a nice one and I like it.

The Shaitan is being renamed as the Guan Yu (might be the Chinese god if war) and the Flame Generals Iron Fist Mortar is being renamed as the Zu Rong (which is the name if the Chinese god of fire)...

I agree that Karkadann is better than previous unit but developer need to make Karkadann more powerful, his shells are weak, it needs to be stronger and longer range cause he can't destroy any of superunits.. The strongest superunit in the game is ZHU RONG and its OVERPOWERD! (when you upgrade thermobaric weapon) You should make it weaker!
Wait for real the strongest superunit is Zhu Rong? I thought it was Saturn or Guan Yu? How is it Strong?

Karkadann means Rhinoceros
found on wikipedia "The Karkadann (Persian: كرگدن "Lord of the Desert") was a mythical unicorn-like creature said to live on the grassy plains of India, Persia and North Africa. The creature was quite similar to a rhinoceros. Upon its horn was an engraving with the head of a man.
Ibn Battuta in his travelogue, calls the rhinoceros he saw in India karkadann. The karkadann was an extremely ferocious beast, driving away from its territory animals as big as the elephant. It is said it would fight an elephant and kill it. It would then hoist it above its head in triumph using its horn, before going blind as the elephant's fat flowed into its eyes as it melted in the sun."
i belive the karkadann may be the (maybe, not so long ago extinct) wooly rhino, or the elasmotherium, search Elasmotherium in wikipedia

OH NO not the desert cruiser :( i really liked of that monstruosity with a lot of turrets.
i think that the GLA assault general should have both or you could send the desert cruiser to the demolition general.
