Mod revived

Mod Revived

The mod development will be continued. Unfortunately many of the assets were lost in the past months due to some issues with my personal system (including the numenorean units and map work). Probably is for the best because many needed redesign - and the map itself will be expanded to include 100% of middle earth, 50% of Aman and 60 - 70% of dark lands.

Also the mod has been renamed to "Blood of Numenor" - there are too many "rise of" in the strategy land

I will keep uploading things as soon as there is something relevant completed.

All the best,

BON team

Dear fans,

Sadly, due to personal problems I am temporary retiring hence any work on the mod is put on hold.

While I don't want to categorize it in the "dead mods" section, I cannot promise neither that it will be revived in the future.

I do hope that in a couple of months I will be able to return and have this mod released; the period, subject, scenarios would have made it a fantastic mod that I would really want to play as a genuine Total War / Tolkien fan :).

On the other hand, if anyone else whishes to take over, pm me.

All the best to everyone!

Theo

After looking through everything on this mod page, if this got released, it could easily become one of the greatest submods for TATW out there. It is so original, amazing, and beyond! Keep up the work!!

"Theodron: the best you could do is to add disasters or give the settlements away but this will not stop you from returning to numenor and reconquer it... "

Just make the island inaccessible. In Medieval 2, in order to reach the New World and cross the ocean you need Carracks to do that, the same process can be done here, but in this case just "turn off" that option in the boats if you know what I mean. Plus, Aman it's a continent where no mortals from Middle-earth (factions or AI) can go, so you can add that system of Medieval 2 in here, remove the unit "Carrack" from the game or something that allows to cross the vast ocean but except the faction of Numenor (if that's possible).

An ideia (if the suggestion above is possible):

The only faction that should be allowed to have "Carracks" it's of course Numenor, there were the only and very advanced nation compared to the rest of the mortal races in Middle-earth. However, if the AI of Numenor decides to strike a territory in Aman; lay siege to a port or city (if an invasion occurs; canon indeed), instantly in the next turn, you (Theodron) can create an canon event that Eru Ilúvatar destroyed the Island of Numenor because they disobeyed the Valar.
This mean, when the event pops up, you can create a system in which the faction becomes a horde, "horde faction" for the armies of Numenor, the island is "instantly destroyed" in other words it's inaccessible, the faction itself loses his settlements and at the same time random shipps spawns in the east coast of the Island (but not Carrack shipps, a lower version to not allow to go back) in which you have Elendil, Isildur and Anárion + numenorean armies and history continues without breaking the lore. I suggest this, because in Medieval 2 you have the Mongols and Timiruds has a Horde faction until they settle. If it's possible, I think you can do this process here.

ps: Make Carracks a special unit only available in Numenor.
ps: Plus, if you could this, to be more canon, create an horde faction for "Black Númenóreans" after the destruction of the Island and I'm going to quote this

"After the Downfall of Númenor 58 years later[2], Umbar remained in the hands of the Númenóreans, in essence a Realm in Exile alongside Arnor and Gondor. But unlike these others, Umbar had been used by the 'King's Men', who had turned to the worship of Melkor in the last days of Númenor. These 'King's Men' were not friendly to the Elves or to their fellow Númenórean survivors who were allied to the elves, and became known as Black Númenóreans."

A lot of interesting ideas but i will have to see what can be done technically speaking and also if I have the time to do it. Regarding Black Numenoreans, the story behind the faction will be that they were numenorean colonists (before the downfall) that were slowly corrupted by sauron while they lived in hither lands. So in mod's storyline they are considered the ancestors of what will become the black numenoreans of umbar and will have a neutral standing with the good factions
