Run. Think. Shoot. Live. Source. Black Mesa is the Half-Life 2 total conversion of the original Half-Life game. Utilizing the Source engine and its endless array of possibilities and powers, Black Mesa will throw you into the world that started the Half-Life continuum and introduced Gordon Freeman to the world as a gun-toting, bullet-dodging Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics.
Looks like the massacre moment from Quake 4.
More Violence More Half-Life
The Black-Mesa surgical blade massacre?
Yeah that reminds me when playing the original one, the scene when the elevator's rope broken down and you could hear only:
distant scream in the shaft->falling elevator cabin with scientists inside->that crunchy sound of bodies being mutilated=pieces of spine and skulls and entrails flying everywhere, yum yum XD
Probably my favorite screenshot from this update.
Oh I remember that machine. It still gives me chills!
What machine is it? It doesn't really ring a bell for me
Peaterson turned on the surgical machine...
It's the one where if you get near it you die. It's in "Surface Tension" I think. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.
I totally forgot about this part of the game until this screen. Holy crap, this'll be awesome.
Oh man its this bit, looks so damn awesome now, like noob-killer said it does look like that moment in Quake 4.
Man, That looks much more gorier and threatening than the original...Now I would REALLY consider ducking under THAT monstrosity...
I remember when I went through this part in Half-Life
and pushed the scientists into this while they all died... then i lost the mission.
Oh, THAT part of Half-Life! Once I had the Quake 4 scene in my head, I couldn't figure out when this was in HL.
I never understood what the **** that machine is for, what possible use could it have?
looks great though.
It's an automated surgery bot. Used to cut through unusual flesh and bone. I did wonder about the original machine when designing this room, and came to the conclusion that it was supposed to be for that purpose, so designed it for a more robotic arm approach.
It is much more evident in this remake version than in the original one.
Will there be any unique interaction between the surgery bot and NPCs before it kills them, or will it just be an insta-gib again?
Creepy room...
WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT WANT this will be the best mod ever
So THATS what that spinny machine was!
That is VERY spectacular (now)!
this is scene from hl1?
Indeed it is. Spectacular!
The machine makes MUCH more sense now, lmao.
looks damn impressive
when i saw it on the first HL i wasnt very intimidated so i didnt crouch... then i regreted it, sorry Gordon
well this looks up to safety standards
I hope the scientist in the other room don't try to follow you like there is nothing dangerous in there! XD
No, they hang back in the prep room behind, observing you as you attempt to turn it off. If you bring the guard with you, he stands outside the other door, doing the same thing.
deadspace 2?
Awesome texturing and I see some particles of blood
Me likey even though I've never actually played Half-Life 1 :D (same with all of the other media)
Teleport experiment goes wrong, which kills the nearby staff, alien invasion of invaders with offensive capabilities, black ops armies, who come in to swipe the place, alien zombies, crazy turrets, failed laser weaponry, creepy dude in a suit, MIT graduate running around the facility with hazard suit and crowbar and now a batshit crazy surgery bot. Whatever bad can happen in Black Mesa, certainly happens.

Compare this to the photos that have been up forever on moddb... Just... WOW.
what level what this on
Reminds me of Fallout.
This part of Half-Life never made sense. Though I like what they've done with it.
sorry but there's not enough gore in this image
i like the look of those gibs :D
i dont
