Nice unit, I like them! A double Panther plus a couple of Tiger 1. But may you provide historical source about this unit's name? I didn't find them!

PS: out of topic but how about the Romanian?

well, I got it from several osprey books about armored warfare in the Eastern Front.

Tanks of Hitler's Eastern Allies 1941-45 (New Vanguard)
Zaloga
ISBN-10: 1780960204
page 24

Zaloga is generally a very good writer on armored warfare, but I do like to get books written by people fluent in original language sources whenever possible.

towards that end I've been revising Hungary because I finally got my hands on "Magyar Warriors: the History of the Royal Hungarian Armed Forces, 1919-1945" by Bernad and Kliment.

I'm making further investigations into Romania at this time. once I decided to make Hungary a full-fledged faction I decided that Romania should be considered a full-fledged faction as well.

oh yeah. that's a great little site. I've had that bookmarked for about a year now.

it's the wrong war, of course-- but I spent hundreds of hours reading through this website:

the camo is really great on these ones, also the proportions (';

should really give germans something similar and not just greys imo

thanks for the compliment.

after units being scaled relative to each other, more people complained about the lack of consistency between unit paint schemes than anything else. since Germany actually used a pretty broad range of color schemes and markings we decided to make everything grey. if we had gone ahead with time-period based divisions and techs I would have considered a larger variety of skins.

as it stands, the multiple time-periods will have to be saved for another time and place.

Love this stuff good work, Regiments like this should be able to hold off the Russian Bear... Well till they bring out the IS-3's and IS-7's though.

actually, I tried them out w/o upgrades one regiment against another and the IS-3s and IS-7s lost every time. the Russian heavies just couldn't overcome the numbers advantage the Hungarians had. I'll change it to the normal layout of three front-line units, two-support, and one CO. this should make it more in line with what it would have been capable of historically.

Description

this is a new skin for an old regiment. the "Scythian" heavy tank regiment already exists in the current mod. the big difference is that I've tried to give it distinctly Hungarian skins and colors. it requires a formidable amount of research to deploy:
Advanced Armor Training, Diesel Engines, Gyrostabilized Tank Guns, and Heavy Tanks.

once available it enables Hungary to remain competitive with late war Russian tanks in direct combat. it's still vulnerable to losing it's morale to artillery and air strikes.
