The Northern Excursion mod (once called the "Extreme Realism" mod) is a game-enhancement mod that introduces a new faction, the "North American Coalition" (NAC), re-introduces the jet fighter/bomber air vehicle types from Battlefield 2 and also brings back old features which were left out of the original Battlefield 2142 such as stationary machine guns, visual effects, unused voice overs and more.

Very nice, rather original but with just a dash of GDI and ODST.

I concur, although the helmet might be somewhat futuristic, its too similar to the PAC Helmet. But I say that a ODST like-ness should be for the Recon class only. Something more like the Standard Halo Marine Helmet mixed with another might give you some better ideas.

No, I think we'll keep the helmet and the soldier the way it is. Getting these soldiers made was hard enough :)

This is beyond what I have expected! Could you make the brown helmet and the shoulder pads a different color though? Just a suggestion.

Very easy to do, we'll make them green. In Photoshop I took these images we uploaded and made the brown bits more green using a hue effect to see what it would look like and it looked a lot better than the brown.

I agree with Dann, this is way beyond what I had in mind!. But Looking at this models and comparing them, they look a bit more advanced that the other factions, its just my opinion, but, who said that war was a fair thing??

Hey sergiovi keep in mind that the NAC´s vehicles are so modern so for balance purposes the soldiers look a lot more futuristic

Whenever I look at this soldier, I think of:

"Somebody call for an exterminator?"

• The helmet you see in these heavy armoured soldier images were for the Recon kit, but we decided to give the NAC faction reskined EU helmets/kits instead.

One of the hardest things we've tried to get for this mod are some unique, high-detailed, futuristic-themed heavy and light armoured soldiers for the new North American Coalition faction. I mean, talented modellers and texture artists don't grow on trees, they are hard to find. We couldn't believe our luck when a fan of the mod, yone (who had actually gone looking for people to help us out), had found a talented person who could do both jobs in a relatively short amount of time.

We cannot thank him enough for the work he has done for us and we wish there were more people like him willing to work for mods.
